  • Martin Lambert,

Actually, as in when JohnKey and Simon Bridges are questioned about anything, they bust this one out before an unsubstantiated statement.

For full effect, must pronounce slowly ...Ektchulleee

Nimby - in regard to the Auckland Unitary Plan. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=10843323

  • linger,

    Half-asset sales.
(e.g. Meridian: if any humour were intended, it'd be a complete farce, but as it is it's just half-farced.)

  • Myles Thomas, in reply to Stephen R,

Oh I see. Well I think it's probably become a word and though horrible, is short hand for part of society that's sometimes denied. Anyway, I withdraw and offer my second choice...

Chorused... to have regulated privately-owned monopolies intending to charge citizens more for services provided.

  • Graeme Edgeler, in reply to Thrash Cardiom,

Snowdenning – the act of whistleblowing.

Google literally has one result for this form of the word. Probably not WotW :-)

edit: oh wait, that was just a typo. Still don't think it's word of the year, but qualifies for nomination.

Crapnuts (not my word, it's my expression of frustration) - I'd started to type my reply when there were no comments here, I'd have been the first...

Metadata, Snowden and Prism were my suggestions.
