You mean, Vicki Hyde the Founder of KAOS?
I did not know that.
"Interesting" how that doesn't rate higher on her CV, isn't it? I'm just saying, it's 'interesting'.
Ah. It appears I did not know that because somebody did not want me to know.

Remove the probe Russell ( its just behind your left ear) then you will know all they do not want you to know

In a great year for conspiracy, I think my favourite headline would be: "Charlie Sheen demands Obama meeting on 9/11 cover-up". The Weekly World News would have rejected that one as too far-fetched, but it ran for real in the LA Times.
-
Now that you say it, I can imagine Vicki Hyde sporting a watergun and fruity camo. Mind you, that probably applies to Sheen as well.

may i say i very much like "..playing the racist card and the MSM like a cheap fiddle"
but i was a bit disturbed to see the outright condemnation on PA of one of yr fellow NZ journalists for sampling from another one (in Oz) without acknowledgement - a real part of me thinks that the less Names we have before us to accuse the more the *ideas in themselves* (those anecdata, as you would have it), might have the chance to freely circulate - and is this not sort of like the ideal we are after? And if not, why not?
i would almost be so foolish as to ask for a recapitulation to be performed by all hands on deck at this juncture as to the first recallable moment each might manage as to when the thought of anthropogenic climate change first-of-all compelled yr attention, your intellectual assent even - iow, can every one of you clearly remember a time *before* there was simply an orthodoxy in place versus a roving band of heretics/denialists? And are you prepared to re-locate these events for the record?
sending in the probe again

I think so steven - it must be"lift provocation flag above bridge' time. Again.

Uncensored were all over it too. Their article stated: "...when someone with the gravitas of a Charlie Sheen issues a statement, anyone is forced to listen."

Without any hint of irony, of course.
My favourite conspiracy is chemtrails; and, more specifically, that sylphs (cloud-creatures) are helping humans combat the sinister NWO forces who are laying the chemtrails down.
Side note: I've been banned from MysteriousNZ and outed as a 'disinformation agent' on Uncensored for my efforts at trying to reason with the denizens of those particular sites, so you might want to treat my contributions with some suspicion.

so simply by (lazily) deploying the sign of 'provocation' you can consign my enquiry to hell just like that, huh?

I think a much better reason for doing that is that you're consistently incoherent.

oh Herr Tiso pray tell, what PART of this do you not understand?
(and if Tagmond was 'provoked' she must have, partly at least, understood, right?)

Well done noizyboy- cheers!
-
thanks! I think. ;)

It's a badge of honour. Instant credibility.

Just when it seems spring is here, a chill sweeps in from the south. Unamusingly.
-
((oh me, oh my, what to say? what a silly bunch of very unadventurous old cows !!!))
-
sylphs?
Why do I instantly think of "The Rape of The Lock"?
Little twisted excoriatingly-tongued Mr Pope- with your beautiful rythyms & rhymes & truly nasty mind- welcome again to the world! -
But *you* were incisive & exceedingly coherent-
just kind of 'ew!' flick off fingers disgusting-
-but given your circumstances - meh, why not be so? -
Re. the backmasking - thanks for posting Richard, I'd never felt like destoying my records enough to try and make them play backwards.
I never realised Beelzebub was so into toolsheds that he wanted to lead us all down the garden path to one. I suppose it makes sense though, what with all the pitchforks and all. You've got to have somewhere to file them tidily away.

Sort of related, but here's a Salon article on how Glen Beck's frankly batshit theories frequently get laundered and then pounced upon by Republican congressman and senators. It's actually quite worrying.
This is what happens when a party's manifesto/ideology begins to eat itself. Say what you will about William F Buckley, but at least he articulated the "new way" for conservatism in a coherent and persuasive fashion. Whether one agreed with his philosophy, is, of course another matter entirely.

I like that conspiracy claiming piracy of music and cinema are killing the industry.
-
I keep seeing free screenings of something called Zeitgeist advertised around campus. Haven't seen it but it's available online and looks fairly crazy.
Is this the same conspiracy theory movie to rail against celebrity culture and then conclude with a montage featuring John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix?
The reason I ask is that there was one that seemed to play on indefinite loop on one of ChCh's public access chanels. I know this because it always was playing whenever I got home after midnight.
It acted as a good cure for insomnia, actually.
The only other thing I can remember about it was is obsession with the "evil" Federal Income Tax. Something about it being unconstitutional. No, I didn't understand that either....

And on a slight tangent to matters conspiratorial, I'm a big fan of The Dim-Post, but seriously Danyl: W. T. F?
Go for Nick Smith’s throat: question his mental health. Provoke outrage. Ask why he’s cutting funding for therapy when he obviously needs it himself. Kick up a huge controversy.
When Clark called Don Brash ‘cancerous and corrosive’ she knew what she was doing: there were countless stories about the PMs attack all through the media for weeks afterwards (’did Clark go too far?’) all mentioning the words ‘Brash’ and ‘Cancer’ in the same sentence. Voters only pretend to disprove of negative tactics – they are generally very impressed and highly influenced by attack politics. So go too far! They’re privatising ACC! You’re the opposition! You’re already at rock bottom! What have you got to lose?
Mr Head may I introduce you to my good friend, Mr. Desk?

"someone with the gravitas of a Charlie Sheen"
If I ever get a business card, that has to go on it.

Indeed. I loved George D's comment:
Danyl, I’m glad you’ve got back to writing satire.

Conspiracy theories, OH MY.
The best one has to be David Icke (or Icky)
2001 I cast my eyes over those books.Dubya and Darth Cheney, I could imagine them, on dark nights transforming into tongue flicking lizards, descendants from a long line of somehow surviving dinosaur aliens from another dimension ensuring our confused and anxiety ridden psychic energies were feeding their ravenous appetites.
Ahh memories.
