Jackson, your trees look totally fake ;-) And I love the crosshatching on the path in the first one, and how it marks the transition between one reality and another. Very Miéville. ;-)
Johnathan, your wall pictures have a strikingly abstract, urban aesthetic. Fascinating how you three have taken quite different views.
I particularly like Sophie's ropey pohutukawa against the murky sky -- could easily be water not air.

Actually, isn't "noise wall" a bit of a misnomer? Isn't it really a Wall of Silence? :-)

Depends which side your on. The ones around Beijing seem to work by bouncing the noise back at the road, making them definitely "noise walls" on that side. It would be cool (because I woke up far too early and am still slowly caffeinating) if the wall could take all that noise energy and turn it into a pretty light show on the quiet side. Then it would be a wall of silent sci-fi awesomeness.

Thanks Craig. Of course Jonathan and Sophie need a special mention here, especially as they discovered the location for this. In fact, I gather they have been issued a trespass notice for loitering. ;-)

Those panels look remarkably unscratch-tagged, here's hoping they remain so......and you'd think there'd be some way to extract energy (even small amounts) from the squelching of sound, it is after all a wave...
...I mean, it can trigger enough electrical current to send signals along the auditory nerve to the brain, that's gotta be useful somewhere in the scheme of things, right?
...or does noise become static energy, sloughing off charge, blundering through the iron forest, unheard, with no particle place to go...

It's a pretty cool place to walk, night or day, and un-naturally quiet. The screen is a bit grubby, and will probably only get dirtier, filtering the light (and sound?) in a different way. I wonder how that acrylic will degrade too - will it become more opaque, or just increase the yellow?
Speaking of cool - it was during our 'really cold' weather, Jackson really was rugged up in layers, topped off with anorak.

Yup, I did - and here's another one... I'll have to go back and have another look - sounds like it could be complete now - I did quite like the use of the traffic cones though.

One more I would like to add - more fake trees and the over-bridgy thing - I think Jackson had a picture of this structure too.
