Another great shot Julie.
Over a very busy week, these threads have been wonderful to watch.
I feel I should contribute more, but you all seem to be doing a wonderful job.
Cheers.

Don't worry Jackson, you'll be raring to go when you get the chance!
our local beach this evening
Looking lovely, that beach, here's Bondi in real B&W from some years ago....

Bondi filesaver...
Whoops, here it is…
...from outside The Astra hotel (or thereabouts)?
I hear it may now be an old folks home...
it was definitely a 'day care centre'
of sorts in the '80s! -

This might be a good place to give a shout-out to Chch nature-photographer Jonathan Harrod, whose photos of birds in Travis Wetland I think are particularly wonderful.

My soundtrack doesn't involve much birdsong at the moment, but this well-digging machine with its rhythmic whir-punch-clank. It's not loud, and oddly comforting...
And that blue sky was so nice to see... Beijing dawned grey, murky, filthy and stinkingly humid, but when we crossed over the mountains we could see clear across the basin.
Unfortunately I've got paperwork to catch up on...

E Chris – that upper bird looks almost exactly like one of our kites! (the human-made kind.)
