  • Hard News: The Mega Conspiracy,

The Kim Dot Com interview on TV3 with John Campbell was good viewing - I hope he sticks around and goes hard, fights the thing and wins.

Removing the client offices from HCNZ will ensure that there is a consistent and level service for all - all people will be treated as equals – particularly those without landlines or internet access - that treatment will be shoddy and non responsive.

It would be interesting to look at the relationship between the the job seeker UE graphs, and the movement of Migration, GDP, The Tax Take, and the Deficit.

The tax cuts appear to have really kiciked in.

The closing of the HNZ client offices - people that need state housing often have a range of issues and need to be dealt with by a real person who has experience in dealing with the range of issues that present themselves - this takes a range of skills and knowledge.

A call centre just doesn't cut it - in the redundancies that will follow - we lose the people that have that skill and the ability to train people to acquire those sets of skills – that specialist skill set.

I can see that there will be more people living in cars and on the street, more petty crime and multiple adverse impacts on children, the poor and the needy.

The policy direction is a beat "down" and "up" on the vulnerable and leaves me with overwhelming disgust of this government.

Fletchers have been on at central and local Government to get it’s shit together re Chch - and issued warnings - I linked to some of these last year.

There is no certainty and the economic leadership (for want of a better word) is absent - you can see it in the recent musing by Bill English about budgets, assets sales and arbitrary figures and guessing.

The recovery hinted/touted at over the last two years I don’t feel is going to take place (as expected) and the stock market is translating this in to Fletchers share price.

NZ presently has the have the lowest level of building (consent) activity since records were kept.

    Loan sharking & Labour

Chch Central MP Tim Barnett promised to bring it to Consumer Affairs Minister Judith Tizard's attention. And the Minister did absolutely nothing.

Wow - that is just amamzing - but seeing how the trade union movement has been involved in loans to members laqrgely as a supplemental source of income for the union executive - it is not surprising.

But the other problem is what the hell are the poor people working there expected to achieve.

    The Tony Robbins of gnomes.

Key is a corporate help yourself guru - not (a mum and Dad investor) self help guru.

Robbins does good - Key does no good. Selling "stuff" is the best they can come up with.

From the bottom of paste bin - "This is skid stuff".

John Hayes seems to have an axe to grind - perhaps at one time John Allen got the girl and John Hayes missed out.

The hidden agenda behind the slash to MFAT is a drive to “achieve more” policy goals by buying Key appearances as an offshore talk show host guest - he is so fantastic.

  • Hard News: This Is Not A Complicated Issue, in reply to Angela,

People with disabilities face constant and mostly unnoticed unnecessary battles every day and it's wrong.
    Attitudes must change.

I would extend that to most people going about their daily toil. It is the nature of government and the society we have created since the mid 1980s.

My thoughts are the situation between the Greens and Speaker illustrates how "we" fail to work co-operatively to overcome issues and play the victim card - something that both sides have played.

I am sure it will resolve itself sensibly despite the precious theatrics.
