The most disturbing thing about this thread is the discovery that some people think that @seven was anything other than a puerile, painful, cringingly unfunny waste of space. I'd much rather have Simpsons re-runs: hell, even re-runs of Melody Rules would be better.

And, to be fair, the bit with the council workers was actually quite a telling moment, vis-a-vis the tendencies of those with petty authority to use it to project their own moral judgements into areas in which they do not actually have any authority.
There is a worthwhile story there, but it's hard to tell it in a visual medium without risking accusations of either cynically prurient ratings-grabbing (if the breasts are shown) or hypocritical coyness (if they're not). The cries of "Won't somebody please think of the chooldren!", as if the sight of uncovered bewbs would scar an innocent child for life, certainly made me think that the woman had a good point. However, there are surely more worthwhile campaigns to (un)cover, and pretending that this primetime current affairs makes it seem like gutter journalism.

Given that the show also featured John Banks, that feral Waikato farmer and a Hummer-driving psychopath, the topless sunbathing story wasn't the only one about tits.

That's one of the interesting things about this thread: it's amazing we've got anything at all. There's a spectrum from "too tame to be interesting" to "Oh god, that will get me labelled/arrested/blacklisted/unemployable for life", and on a public forum with real names that last category could very well overlap with the top end of the other one. There are also other categories that could silence one, including "some people might think it's sordid, but personally I don't see anything wrong with it" and "people will just think I'm boasting". I can imagine* many scenarios that would fit into all of the last three categories.

It is interesting how some people you meet and decide that yes it is OK to tease and/or flirt with them and it won't end in tears :).
Emma by the way (as scary as she is) falls definitely into that category.
And it's the (in)ability to read those nuances that makes the difference between a charming rake and a dirty old man.

In one's youth, a certain amount of dissolute behaviour is considered acceptable, but when one reaches A Certain Age, the absence of mortgage, car and committed monogamous life partner is looked upon with a combination of distaste and pity. "When are you going to grow up and settle down?"
Have you ever heard the term "roue" used without the adjective "ageing"?
