    Quite. So.

Brave use of "ontological", I might add.

Nat, I find reading David's articles is better your way. The mind has been known to blow.

No, I disagree with a previous poster. These articles are better than your dog training ones.

Next time you are sinking a quiet one with Al you might like to ask him whether his financephalograph has sprung a leak, or something.

Pretty sure the RBNZ still uses this technology for modeling our economy.

(Note - Bill Phillips is an unsung NZ icon, found out about him as a result of a wonderful talk given by Dr. Bollard a few years ago.)

  • Hard News: Bad men,

On reflection I guess we have different expectations of our elected officials. I want people who have strong ethics in combination with a decent moral code of conduct.

I doubt it very much. I suspect the difference is expecting criticism to be fair, balanced and not quite so one sided.

  • Hard News: Bad men,

The point I'm making is that as prime minister the buck stops with her.

Look, I'll go out on a limb for the pm of the day. If you credit her personally for every positive economic, social and sporting indicator/success of the last 7 years then maybe, just maybe you can blame her for the Rotorua police force behavior in the 1980s and Rickart's subsequent promotions. Or did those happen under a National government :-)

  • Hard News: That's Entertainment,

The poll on throng asks if "Will you use TVNZ ondemand?" and gives lots of "no" options.

Of course, the options that are missing are:

"No, because of the DRM." and
"No, because of sucky file formats".

    given the above...

"No, because the BBC is going to YouTube".

Otherwise, I would be a "yes".

  • Hard News: Bad men,

"Oversaw his promotion several times" would be overstating the situation a great deal IMHO.

Correct. The one time she did get a say in his promotion she turned it down.

Attempts to blame this affair on Helen Clark are quite pitiful and smack of desperation in some quarters.

As well as being a West Ham fan (which automatically makes him a good bloke)

It probably also makes him a bloke who after this season's shenanigans by the Hammers, is crying into a warm pint of flat beer.

    Ah, sport, sense the relief.

  • Stories: Best Party Ever,

1993 - Lions Tour, Molly Malones. Post Maori match analysis with the entire Lions establishment (they'd overcome a 20 point HT deficit to win the game). Included a long drunken soliloquy aimed at the Hastings brothers' and an interesting urinal conversation with Stuart Barnes. I am sure they all remember it well as they followed my advice and won the Wellington test.

Only worth recording because I think that was the last time a rugby touring team actually went out on the town with supporters.
