South Africa has a publicly wiccan MP.
From a conservative American perspective, the atheists in our parliament may be worse.

Islander wrote:
if a woodchuck could chuck
My daughter wrote this for school back in June (she had been reading a lot of Shel Silverstein prior to this):
The Woodchuck
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck
If a woodchuck could chuck wood?
Well I asked the woodchuck
And the woodchuck replied
"I've heard that riddle
And I honestly tried.
They said it was fun
So I picked up that wood
And I flapped and I flopped
How I wish that I could
Live up to my name!
Just think of the fame!"So how much wood would a woodchuck chuck
If a woodchuck could chuck wood
With his feet on the ground
Looking into the sun?
The answer...
Is NONE. -

And just as an update to Colorado, it looks like the late reporting precincts have favoured the Republicans. With 85% of the vote counted they are going to get around 11% of the vote (to the Consitution Party's 37%). So probably not regulated to minor party status.

On the other hand the Colarado governor results are awesome. The Republican nomination went to a Tea Partist, so a Republican stood for the Constitution party.
The final result looks like being Democrat about 51%, Constitution about 39%, Republican about 10%.Where is would become the best of all possible worlds is that under Colarado state law, if a party does not get 10% of the vote in the governors race they are regulated to minor party status- they don't get the fund raising advantages of major parties and the candidates are down the bottom of the ballot with the likes of the Greens. This is I gather for all elections held in Colorado until after the next Governor's election (but I am not fully certain on that part).
Now the last results I saw had the Republican on just barely under 10%, so I await with interest if this awesome combination of circumstances plays out. -
I really want a Witch or Vampire to get elected now, I'm sick of all the brain dead zombies.
Well, we know that publicly not being a witch gets you not-elected, ergo...

I don't know a lot about Thatcher, and I can readily believe she had to fight a lot to get accepted into her role. But I still think it would have been easier for a staunch conservative Iron Lady slipping into a sort of Elizabethan exception role, than it would have been for one of the more feminist types in that era.
Well it is certainly easier for a conservative woman to become head of a conservative political party than a liberal woman.

Jeremy Eade - there's more than a few of them -but they dont blog.
Well, I'd call some of the bloggers operating in Making Light a good starting point.

Gah. Read the comments under it
I would rather remain in happy oblivion, having been running the "Shut Up" Safari extension, based on the Shut Up css file which blocks comments (but not those of Public Address).
