this seems like hate attacks by nobodies - for fun.
Yeah, this is just drive-by trolling. it's pretty easy to deal with. You get more of it on feminist sites because they're easy to identify as targets. It's not just feminist sites that get it though, it's anyone down the privilege chain who pops their head up. We haven't come anywhere near the stuff I used to have to deal with on Tim Barnett's site yet. And yes, most of it does seem to come from young men, whether they're having a go at women, or gay people, or sex workers or whatever.

Emma, hello! Congratulations on The Stroppery, I love it already. And I hope you get so many fun and constructive and interesting comments that the nasty and stupid ones get swept away in the flood of awesomeness....
I also love your flapper pictures in the masthead. A friend just sent me a link to this Flappers' Dictionary, which is truly the duck's quack.

The definition of Strike Breaker may just be the most fabulous sentence in the history of the English language.

Agreed! And can I lament the shortage of umbrellas in my part of town at present?

The same ilk who yelled sexist remarks at Anna Faris earlier this year when she was filming the Yogi Bear movie. They seem to fit all 3 characteristics of the typical bully - cowardice, big-babyism, and inferiority complexity - all seemingly related to some kind of lost dominance that probably never existed in the first place. Once again i cite Kapka Kassabova's Listener column "The unbearable lightness of being English".

RIP Stroppery. That didn't last long. Still, an interesting experiment.

Yeah. Obviously I'm not going to talk about what happened in public because that's not how I roll, and anyone who was watching can probably make a fairly accurate guess. Apparently I will talk about it in private though, as that's what I've been doing all morning. That and weeding beetroot.
However. This is not the end and all that. My hope is that two new sites will come out of this, but there will definitely be one.

I say hurrah to that. And the weeding of beetroot. Because you just can't beat beetroot relish.
