I was in Australia last week and one of the good things was getting both The Daily Show and The Colbert Report between 7 and 8pm every night on ABC2. The latter had one of the great comedy moments -- Colbert explaining that Islam had even infiltrated America's Christmas carols. As in, "Fal-lah Al-lah Al-lah Al-lah lah lah".

the new season of Glee is on its way. Squee!
Meh, the Rocky Horrible episode looks like another 'Funk' style cluster fuck not even the beyond fabulous Jane Lynch can redeem.
This is an act of war, and we can't let the terrorists win...
-
Also: I may be way behind the curve on this, but thoroughly enjoyed Being Human on Prime the other night.

TV3 going up against TV1 = understandable, but a rather large punt...
C4 changing again and going up against ? = understandable but another rather large punt (with added WTF?)

3410,
TV3 going up against TV1
Modelled on New TV1 or TV1 Classic? The former, it seems.
Personally, I think they'd do best with more Brit. programming. Shouldn't neccessarily be any more expensive.

Indeed - elegantly simple premise, engaging cast and consistently good writing. I'm also hoping the backdoor pilot is going to be included on the DVD -- Tovey is the only member of the central trio who made it from pilot to series, and the tone is considerably more gothic.
What I didn't enjoy so much was Prime "teasing" the series weeks back with a behind the scenes doco that methodically, comprehensively spoiled EVERY major character beat and plot turn to come.
Makes me want to bite someone...

The reason we couldn't watch the full episodes of the Daily Show and Colbert from the official sites was supposed to be because of C4 and (later) Comedy Central's licenses. If they no longer exist, then they need to lift the geo-location ban on New Zealand.

Yes. Bastards.

TV3 going up against TV1
With the talk of thin audience for Campbell Live it almost seemed to me they decided 'Let's be a channel with the audience to support such a flagship.' Besides, the audience how to channel surf and with some of the scant attention often needed for either channels' programmes, then go for it.
So... what will the programmes be? What will replace OF? I'm liking The Big C and will give Sons of Anarchy a look but make no promises...

Interesting - what series did it spin-off from?
-
Is there someone at Comedy Central New Zealand I can metaphorically kick in the nuts? Because I'm all Hulk-Smash about the Daily Show/Colbert thing.

You can watch the full episodes, you just need to watch it in 3 - 4 clips from their web site. A minor inconvenience for getting your Daily Show fix.

I was wondering where they went. This is terrible news. Part of MTVs cut backs or something?

Craig: Thanks for the entertainment. I don't get enough Rocky Horror in my day.
Not sure what you mean by 'cluster fuck' other than ladies with their bums and tits out and the guys drooling. There isn't so much of all that in this clip but definitely too much tongue for my tastes. I like the male lead with his Malfoy hair. -
Makes me want to bite someone...
Craig - an afterthought. Where abouts on the Shore are you?
-
Promo clip for hew FOUR channel - as David McGregor (h/t) asked, where will the music go now?
-
Quelle horreur...
This is an act of war, and we can't let the terrorists win...
... That's right Richard Curtis is a real New Zealander now (I think...), just like us!

Um, I've had raw tofu with more flavour. The problem with the 'Funk' episode of Glee last season is that the show's Autotuned into oblivion cast (and the bland arrangements) are about as funky as Pat Boone. Kiddies, you're going to do Rocky Horror rock it or fuck off.
-
where will the music go now?
Isn't it already on C42? (Which, if US programming patterns for music video channels are anything to go by, will soon be taken over by witless nattering veejays and lose all its charm.)
-
Oh, you mean that channel I can't get FTA? Digital receiver becoming rapidly less optional.
-
Being Human. Have recorded it because I had a choice btw that and Sons of Anarchy on TV3. Did I choose correctly?
-
Did I choose correctly?
Probably not if you're me. But you're probably you.

The music and music shows on C42 is quite different from that on C4.
-
Oh, Graeme. Now I worry.
