  • Kyle Matthews,

does trump worked for Bill Ayers

Feel free to make shit up in passing.

Obama didn't work for Bill Ayers, they served on the Woods Fund board together. What's wrong with being on the board with a Professor of Education at the University of Illinois is another question all-together.

  • Sacha,

    attack him on his weaknesses

Doesn't the Rove handbook promote attacking the opponent's strengths - hence the Swiftboating of Kerry?

  • giovanni tiso,

Obama now back in the lead of three of the four major tracking polls ...

It was always going to happen (and I'm saying this in the grand tradition of pretending I knew the first thing about this sort of stuff) but I'm sure that the timing of it has everything to do with Palin disappearing from the front pages. The silver lining of hurricanes and the stock market collapses?

  • Craig Ranapia,

    A-fraggin'-men!

But too many in my party are not interested in the facts. They want Palin to win -- at all cost.

I want McCain and Palin to win too. But with Palin's refusal to cooperate with the independent investigator and her transparent delay tactics, Americans deserve to know what Palin is trying to hide before we vote her a heartbeat away from the leader of the free world.

My fellow conservatives, remember how frustrating it was when Bill Clinton committed perjury and liberals looked the other way.

As conservatives, we are no better unless we demand full disclosure from our governor when it comes to Troopergate.

No politician is so popular and charismatic that they should be above accountability and telling the truth. Not even Sarah Palin.

Hat-tip: Emo hysteric Andrew Sullivan - but read the whole thing anyway)

  • giovanni tiso,

I also like very much these battleground state polls showing Florida and Ohio neck and neck, and Indiana close. Bearing in mind that Obama has many more paths to winning the math than McCain - if he clinches Florida (where he was trailing by almost ten until not long ago) it's game over.

  • Craig Ranapia,

Anyone think this is going to go down well in Boca? :)

"He talks about siding with the people just before he flew off for a fundraiser in Hollywood with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends" McCain said of his rival. "Let me tell you, my friends, there's no place I'd rather be than right here with the working men and women of Ohio."

McCain used the line as his close at an airport hangar rally, drawing loud applause.

Doesn't Obama have a Stepford proxy to complain about McCain's "disrespectful" sexism -- and ask what's he got against old, loud Jewish broads anyway? If that doesn't make Florida a blue state nothing will. :)

  • Rich Lock,

Rich, that's a brilliant combination of Paul Henry and one of Mr Slacks' haiku. I salute you in this time of billboards.

Possibly needs a bit more polishing:

    So. Farewell then
    Win. And Welcome,
    Fail.

    Coffee should be
    drunk before
    you post.

    Rookie mistake.

    Wow ...

Sarah Palin's (in)famous Yahoo account has been hacked.

    For real.

    OK, now I'm feeling squicky -- otherwise I'd be a bit of a hypocrite, wouldn't I?

  • Angus Robertson,

    Simon,

Obama now back in the lead of three of the four major tracking polls ...

All Palin all the time = McCain 3% ahead.

Wall St crashes, Ike clean up secondary news, Palin hardly on the radar = Obama takes lead.

What this means to the loony left is the Palin story is the single most devastating weapon against the Republicans ever, we are the greatest, yay us.

Simon please take a few words of advice - forget about Sarah she is not worth the effort.

We were not talking sentiment, we were talking a polling figure [about sentiment].

Congratulations are in order, you have managed to highlight a meaningless statistical data error - twice. Approval/disapproval is an expression of sentiment, 20% approval does not express much better sentiment than 9%. My original point stands - the Pelosi/Reid congress is awfully unpopular.

Talk about playing into your opponent's hand when the national news are giving you a huge boost.

Oh, the stupidity of it all.

Oh, the stupidity of it all.

It wasn't done by anyone involved with Obama -- it was Anonymous, the hacker group that has been bothering the Scientologists. A member of the group later changed the password to prevent further access and gave the new password to Palin's office.

  • giovanni tiso,

I wasn't suggesting they were involved with Obama, but presumably sympathetic to the cause of electing him. Then again, maybe not.

Bothering the scientologists seems an altogether worthy cause.

oh for gods sake Angus, at least be adult enough to admit your error. You said:

whilst in the real world its approval rating is 9%.

That was your original point....It was cherry picked twaddle..then you started going about sentiment instead, rather than doing the smart thing and saying, as I'm guessing most here would, 'my mistake'. 10% is not a meaningless statistical error regardless of 'sentiment'.

What this means to the loony left is the Palin story is the single most devastating weapon against the Republicans ever, we are the greatest, yay us.

No, what this means is that the best advice is probably, looking at your track record, to ignore your advice.

  • Russell Brown,

In the week ending Sept 14, the biggest Presidential campaign news story was "lipstick on a pig" ...

    http://pewresearch.org/pubs/954/palin-news-coverage

That's three times the prominence of stories about the US economy.

61% of all campaign stories were about Sarah Palin.

    They're nuts.

my favourite comment was the first though:

You'd think that John McCain would have protected her from this egregious invasion of privacy, he being the inventor of the Blackberry after all.

But yeah, best left behind. That said, the stupidity, to say nothing of the protocol breach, of using a Yahoo account for official business is hard to overstate.

  • Russell Brown,

    Hey!

The National Enquirer is back with more great Jerry Springer action from the Palin clan:

    * Bristol Palin began laughing uncontrollably after smoking weed on camera in a video shot before her mom became governor back when she was probably 15.
    * Says a source: "It was just another regular night of partying for Bristol and the other wild kids in Wasilla."
    * A friend says he has gotten Levi cocaine "on at least three occasions and has seen him snort it."
    * Bristol Palin was known as the "makeout queen."
    * Levi was "also on steroids" that he injected.
    * He used to sell Oxycontin for "lots of money"!
    * But not all of it. He smoked it himself "off of aluminum foil."

I know that we don't count somehow, but on this site the Sarah Palin quotient was probably closer to 90%.

  • Mike Stead,

"There are two major differences between the local implementation of MusicStation and the British one. The first is that the local service is significantly cheaper: $2.50 a week versus £1.99."

er....I'm no international finance guy, but those prices actually look more or less identical, in terms of how long the average schmoe in each country would have to work to buy a track.

It would only be 'significantly cheaper' in NZ if I as a UK resident could pay pounds to access a NZ Musicstation account, therefore taking advantage of the exchange rate difference to buy my tracks for around 91p.

And I don't think you can do that, unless I got a VFNZ SIM card and used it to download the tracks here in Blighty, in which case the international data charges would cost a fortune.
