Weldon easn't a "cultural fit" for TV3.Naturally Glucina also posted a pathetic sucky sucky comment which I won’t bother to repeat here. But it does show how out of touch she is with her “colleagues”.

Former TV3 staffers are joining the chorus of voices wishing farewell to Weldon. Jeff Hampton has some heartfelt words on Weldon’s sojourn at TV3. And Melanie Reid didn’t hold back on John Campbell’s show last night.
Elsewhere, Brian Gaynor says Hilary Barry's resignation was the moment that MediaWorks really lost its mojo.

Toby Manhire suggests a variety of new reality TV shows which might suit Mediaworks' new focus, neatly summarising the main issues facing our parliamentarians today. The Koro Hour is my favourite. I'd watch that!
For a bit of comic relief, Toddy McClay, like a bundle of hay, will bounce about the place, eyes darting back and forth like pinballs, trying to work out which one isn't the Prime Minister's lawyer.
Manhire is truly a national treasure.

Following TV3's leaking of info from the RBNZ lockup, Mediaworks news outlets are excluded from Reserve Bank media conferences until further notice. That seem fairer than banning all journos and has to be yet another nail in the Mediaworks' coffin.

The Weldon Effect is coming home to roost and MediaWorks profits have halved over the last 12 months. Radio is still performing well but the TV side of the business is more than a little sick.
[Acting CEO) Chalmers said MediaWorks would not be filing audited accounts to the Companies Office this year. He said the company had assurances from the Companies Office that such filing was not required.
Really? I thought that was a legal requirement for all registered companies. Has Steven Joyce had a quiet word with someone perhaps?

Here's Stuff's take on it... I love this new business model they talk about (bold):
Chalmers, while happy to talk numbers, wasn't giving anything away about the intentions of MediaWorks' owner, private equality firm Oaktree Capital but did say there were not current plans for further staff cuts. Oaktree took full ownership in May 2015.

Scout’s closure was always inevitable. It just came down to Mediaworks’ desire to save face versus the costs of continuing with a loss-making and ultimately doomed site. The ill-advised decision to associate Mediaworks with the increasingly toxic Glucina was down to Weldon. His departure has finally allowed them to cauterise the boil that was Scout.
One wonders what "new opportunity" awaits Glucina. She has no discernable talent and following this debacle, added to her immoral hatchet job on Amanda Bailey, no credible media company would touch her with a barge pole.
Maybe she’ll pop up with Hoskings or Henry where narcissism trumps credibility. Or perhaps they’ll find her a role in the National Party’s dirty tricks brigade. The latter would seem to be the most natural fit for someone of her proven ineptitude. After all, Key still owes her the vile role she played in ponytailgate.

That includes the reckless and feckless Simon Bridges I assume...
I'm also guessing there will be some large public sculptures involving non-load bearing steel tubes all round the Waikato soon...

Mediaworks have axed their midday news bulletin. No surprises there. Did anyone ever watch tele at that time of the day?
The same story confirms that Glucina left the premises on Friday, which will have endowed TV3's Friday night drinks with a slight hint of karmic glow.
