  • JacksonP,

    Cheers all yous.

    the camera adds ten pounds

My appearance fee is now at least 10 times that.

Seriously though, was fun, but actually watching it was kind of weird. Who is that guy?

One thing that was abundantly clear from the other side of the lens is that come June, unless someone does something sensible, New Zealand is losing one of the best current affairs crews operating anyway.

And they didn’t even have to pay me to say that.

Cheers Russell, Sarah, Sacha and everyone else. Like flying first class.

Awww … what I would say is that our show has a culture. I’m pretty emphatic about welcoming guests (and friends) and I think the experience of appearing on Media7 is different to most current affairs shows. It was good this week to see Native Affairs has its own style too – you’re pretty much ordered avail yourself of the kai there.

Sarah’s a bit of a secret weapon for us too. She does the pre-interviews and she’s very good at getting people to talk to her. And of course, once they’ve said it to her, they can say it to me :-)

PS: For me, Sarah, Sam and Jose, Media7 is our first TV show. So we've had to find our own ways of making it and I think that's had quite a bearing on what we do.

  • Julie Cross,

Well done JP.. glad I could take a peek from over here... interesting debate which my flu brain has prevented me entering... I've been of the thought train that accreditation is everything even if asking is not... don't let it free in the interwebs if you don't want it nicked kind of thing! Stuff to think about but I do have more respect for ugly watermarks now.

There's a great article some place about the Feds tracking a hacking criminal via the metadata in a photo he'd posted ...one day that technology could be used to track all your photos on the web - virtual microchipping.

And I always wondered what happened to the lovely Sarah D... she used to edit my work. In good company!

  • JacksonP,

Thanks Julie. Funny how the world turns.

As I was reading your comment, Sarah sent me a thank you email, so I said hi from you.

Hope all goes well. Speaking of emails...

Slow to notice. I've heard it's hard to kill a weed. ;-)

  • JacksonP,

This answer relocated from another thread to keep discussion going here. Perhaps in hindsight this is a bit odd, but seemed like a good idea at the time.

    In reply to Geoff Lealand's question;

Where are the NZ Herald on the site? Maybe they have disappeared. Regarding the uncredited Hamilton photo accompanying yours--was it one of mine?

The gallery is still here, but they took all three photos down when I pointed out the wrong crediting, and they were never put back on. Even though I eventually gave them permission. The person in Hamilton was called Andy. Would have been good to talk with him actually. By no fault of his, his photo, attributed to @CatureNZ, was removed. He might have been happy to leave it on.

Anyway, much learning all round. Waiting to see the promised Herald policy.
