Keith,
The last para in your short post is very important. It puts these cuts into political persepctive.
I'd love to hear Cullen's private thoughts right now. -
The deficits are already $1b a year higher per annum because of the tranches of tax cuts for higher income earners WEF April? last year.
Don't discard the possibility that they will borrow to fund part of the future cuts. We are talking about the one party that mortgages our children, remember. -
Who needs to worry about the maths if they think they can pull the wool over enough voters eyes?
And what about the 'north of $40' for anyone on the average working wage that was promised during the election campaign, canceled in favour of last year's tax cuts for the top 10%?
How is increasing GST going to close the wage gap with Australia?
National must have some very powerful sedative if they think they can pull this sort of bulls**t off.

The whole thrust of the TWG was to redistribute the tax burden downwards so we can have yet another repeat of failed trickle neo-liberal economic theory
Listen to Bob Buckle on Morning report today made me want to scream . . . . .

I expect tinkering with LAQC's rather than their elimination. And a rise in GST will be signaled. How else can they increase the tax on people who qualify for WWF? {which is untouchable now to my mind}
