Hard News: Meanwhile back at the polls, in reply to
Shearer looked far from Prime Ministerial.
That is purely because we, as New Zealanders, have come to expect our PM to be a show pony that drinks beersies at barbies, takes the piss out of serious issues and thinks we are not interested in anything other than money.
I think Shearer would have made a great PM, seriously statesman like, concerned, pragmatic and with the kind of empathy that is needed in a good leader. Unfortunately the Media love to showboat and prefer bread and circuses to real leadership.
Sad but true. -

One of the things that SOOoo annoy me is that no-one, and I mean no-one not number one, seems to be willing or able to hold this Government to account, where is that cycling track they promised? is it that they think that allowing our once great roading system to descend into disrepair and go to pot(holes) every time it drizzles a little, will deliver us a maze of BMX tracks?. And what good is a Rock Star economy if it spends all its time smashing up hotel rooms in China? Where is our long promised Knowledge Economy? we don't know and Xiong Qui says he cant recall either but he can tell us that Labour did it, or didn't depending on context.
Where is the fiber to the home they promised, are we all to receive a packet of All Bran shortly before the election, not too shortly of course, could get messy but it could create jobs, not 170,000 of course but low paid ones at least. At least they are doing something about education and the appalling statistics on exam pass rates, they have the answers. They are getting teachers to tell students what those answers are so they can write them down at exam time.
So its not all bad and you can rest assured that they will be keeping an eye on things, those things being you and your friends and families, especially if they are overseas or kinda funny looking.

Hard News: The Letter, in reply to
Is it just that National swaddle it in such sanctimonious smarm that they continue to get away with comparing chalk and cheese so convincingly (apparently)?
Yes.

Barkering up the wrong tree or selling us up the Yangtze
That seems to be all Xiong Qui can do but I could be wrong, it all depends on what state he is in.
The state he is in at the moment is Washington so I reckon he'll sell us up the Potomac. Who knows what he will do next, or even has done, he doesn't. Perhaps he will pop into Egypt on the way back and get in de Nile or maybe Paris where he could go in Seine.
Who knows? I don't, but I can tell you this..... [insert meaningless twaddle about how bad the opposition is here] -
Speaker: The problem of “horror tenants”…, in reply to
I think you can PM me on here
not a feature of the site (yet)
That little envelope thing to the right of your by line, you don't seem to have one but many do, is an eMail link so I reckon that is as good as PM if not the same.

CAFCA? Or Kafka...
"What did l do?"
"We can't tell you that, why don't you tell the truth?"
"About what?"
"You told a lie"
"I did nothing wrong to lie about"
"That is not the point, you didn't tell us about it. You lied"
And so it goes... -
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. So we’re now into political shenanigans where GCSB (and NZSIS?) at the behest of the PM forge and deposit electronic copies of documents that also exist as physical copies in the archives of a public agency? Wow.
Finally Matthew, you get it. See how cunning they are these shapeshifting lizards.

Hard News: The Letter, in reply to
Unless you’re going to posit a truly cunning (and criminal) stitch-up job that involves planting a fake Word document along with a physical document?
I wouldn't put it passed them, would you?
It is, in fact, easier to create a false record "electronically" than a paper one, especially when you, or the GCSB, have the tools to do it. This thing just stinks of "convenience" -
bragging that he’s had a copy of the letter for weeks,
That is all we really need to know. John Key, once again derailing democracy for his own ends. The timing is just about right to cause the most damage, a thing Mr Key knows all about, after all that is how he made the run on the NZ Dollar when he was trading.
We really have to look at the actual letter, where did it come from and why does a copy even exist? is it even real, what exactly is its provenance? Also, I sent you an email the other day about electioneering material I received from "the office of John Key" that was paid for by Parliamentary Services, a blatant breach of the rules. Perhaps you could have a look at that.
As usual John Key is "Out to Lunch" while the shit hits the fan so he remains squeaky clean and the Herald does his dirty work. We can't allow this rort to carry on. National must go. Expose the corruption.
