Hard News: Steven Joyce: Prick or Treat, in reply to
Lisa could have terminated the interview or threatened to do so and it should not have continued after the ad break.
She or management must have said something in the ad break. Further on Joyce whinges about saying he was giving Robertson his chance to speak and he wanted likewise, so it had been discussed during the break. His dismissive attitude seemed to be how he treated both Owen and Robertson. However he also seemed rather nervous in front of the camera (he checks them out often). His notes seemed rather lacking and once repeated a few times left him bereft of knowledge of what was discussed therefore resorting to childish spoilt behaviour methinks. I found Robertson only tried to defend Labour and snapped a few times in defence which was ok and he knew how it was being perceived plus he even asked Joyce to have some respect for Owen which was desperately needed by that point (late in the interview.) It became uncivilised as soon as Joyce opened his trap.

Capture: Lost, in reply to
The Lost series is fab, but why people feel compelled to post rather mundane photos in the comments section is bizarre.
Might be mundane for you ,as for mine this series was inspiration. I guess the responses are in the eye of the beholder who wish to share that which follows after one views the series and where the word "Lost" takes one and the many paths off that.. Of course us amateurs don't believe we can be as fab as the originals, but the inspiration can grow from taking part . By all means, feel free to ignore the comments section.

Hard News: Hope and Wire, in reply to
Would it be positive to offer $3k for the unemployable to leave Christchurch? This may sound callus
It is and no. That someone hasn't got a job could be for many reasons. So no one has the right to categorise a society like that putting a dollar value on human life. It's bloody callous and extremely inconsiderate. Yuk. The trauma that many people are going through and possibly don't even have a grasp on yet and the already sick that can't work is a fact in any society. They have every right to stay where they wish. I find your suggestion quite distasteful to be honest.I am noticing compassion goes out the window daily in this country at the moment. Why?

Hard News: Dotcom: Further news of the unlikely, in reply to
but that KDC has an unhealthily amount of influence.
When questioned about that on BFM last week, he stated if he had wanted to try influence the party, he could have drip fed them money . Instead he gave them a lump sum and introduced the 2 Parties. His belief was that the problems this country has are social problems and Mana understands that. That and the obvious, getting rid of National.

Speaker: Not even a statistic, in reply to
Seems to me that nobody is expected to do their job properly anymore. No real expectations. No responsibility. No accountability.
No funding. All the funding for Legal aid was slashed. No funding = no representation.
Our rights are being systematically undermined . Our rights in the Courts are being eroded. Our Democracy is disappearing.
I must admit ,it was refreshing to see a win for Arthur Taylor on prisoner voting rights. This from the Greens. Collins again with absolute disregard for human beings.
And for all the Lawyers out there, it took a prisoner from a jail cell to stick it to National. -
Speaker: Not even a statistic, in reply to
Others get judges who MUST be corrupt, or members of the same peadophile ring or some damn thing because for the life of me I cannot find any justification for the sentences they hand down nor the comments they make.
What they hand down is the status quo. If a case of similar occurrence has been handed down, A Judge will follow suit because a Lawyer could appeal if a case gets a harsher or easier determination and that's all money. A Judge can't be going "I think I'll change things today, I'm feeling generous" Some of the words they use I think can be questionable myself but that should be the Lawyers job to take up if they think the Judge is out of line. Police are the biggest gang in NZ and I feel it's almost a hive mind that exists amongst them. We are finally getting an increase in complaints about fellow Police whereas in the past everyone covered for each other. We are only just now holding Police to account for their sexism. I think we have Louise Nicholas to thank there. Progress is that she now works with the Police so that's change. Sadly it's not moving fast enough as always. One thing I notice and it hasn't really changed in my experience is, female cops are the worst. Like they have something to prove. Some real bitches.
