  • Random Play: Modern Life is Rubbish,

People who think "disinterested" means the same as "uninterested" and that they are clever for using it. These people used to be called "wiseacres." a word that should be revived.

I would stay longer, but I have to go to Media7. I also dislike people on threads who comment and run, as well as people who always are going somewhere important and must tell you about it.

What Sam said about Media7. It was a very agreeable evening. And now you provide Architect Athfield for my viewing pleasure. My cup is full.

    Ah, le rugby

Daccord. I was walking down Queen Street in Auckland one night, the night of a big game between Les Touts Noirs and Ingerland. Such was the enthusiasm for the game among one group of young men that they were haranguing passers-by. As I passed, one of them asked me "are you English?" I was born in England but on this occasion I decided to shake my head and move on.

  • Hard News: Life Goes On,

Someone in Britain asked me whether the Sydney Harbour Bridge connected Australia and New Zealand. Another was convinced that one could see NZ from the shores of New South Wales, on a clear day. Several others thought that NZ was like England in the 1950s.

And people wonder why I don't want to go back.

As someone who is going to have to borrow money for house extensions sooner or later...

I take that to mean your next coffee maker will be so large as to require its own room.

  • Cracker: Caution Boaties,

Drink is so nice, but it makes me want to smoke cigarettes, which are not nice at all when you think about them. So, in order to stop smoking, I have stopped drinking. I am also missing tonight's Media7 gig, because that place is a nest of smokers and drinkers.

Now what do I do with my life?
