Not quite Paul..he was appointed ,after his election, by the then health minister...Pete Hodgson.

I have no idea what National have against him
Who appointed him to the chair ,Paul?

But he certainly has one hell of an obligation to the people of the Otago district, and the taxpayers who keep the show on the road, to do a little better than play pass the ticking parcel.
The people of Otago re-elected him to the hospital board at the last elections, well aware of the fraud that had been perpetuated.
What ticking parcel? An employee stole, and is now convicted and in prison.

Far freakin' out. So Americans now get a whole five days to examine the text of "non emergency" legislation before it's passed. Some bits of democracy appear to be still coming ...
So we and the Americans share the same time frame for 'emergency ' legislation.
I wonder what ya could slip through...

Judith Collins has always come across to me as the worst sort of party hack
She has no heart. There was a time I feared she would be put in charge of WINZ...

I trust the police weren't too busy checking up on fifteen year olds protesting for the end of youth wages ( is wanting more money for equal effort anti capitalist?) to miss the 'jihadi leaning' Dominican friar savage the Waihopai spy dome...

And the Ralston column is hackneyed, inconsistent, wrong on facts and one of the worst things he's ever written.
Why do his articles never carry a byline concerning his connections with the National Party in general and its parliamentary leader in particular?
I have no problem with his articles, especially when they achieve a modicum of literacy and thought...but it is more honest that folk are aware that he has a foot in the camp.
I would appreciate a byline on all journalists articles if they have an association with the topic they are writing on...

Of course Ben. I too have no problem with private schools. They all employ from the same pool of teachers...the buildings and computer suites etc may be in better condition , but I think the real difference is in the social networking that takes place there.
State schools trying for a point of difference in having external exams such as the Cambridge are a worry though. I would rather a level playing field there...

Plenty of private schools are in receipt of tax payers loot Ben.

I can't really think of a more boring existence.
Being taught by those teachers?
