  • Hard News: That Buzzing Sound,

Gareth: So, now not only are Key and Brash bestest buds, but I guess Judith Collins pressured the Police to so severely redact the fille that it would inevitably be not only newsworthy but piss Brash off beyond endurance?

Excuse the gagging, I'm just trying to get these words out of my mouth... :>
Like I said (and you quoted in fact) I'm NOT a super conspiracy guy but the timing of bringing that chestnut up again just seemed pretty funny. In the "ha" sense of funny.

The Lee "clearance" is currently top story on TVNZ website, a Today Top Story on the Herald and I don't get the Stuff website anymore so fuck knows. She is due an apology IMO but the little I know about the House and politics in general suggests it won't be arriving too smartly.

Apropos of nothing, Mr Brown looks so lovely in CoverFlow:
http://tvnz.co.nz/tv (newly launched TVNZ site that seems to be getting caned at the moment so bear with it)

  • Hard News: Stop the Enabling,

Gareth, that is possible but very much speculation

    Ha.
You've leapt to the most extraordinary speculation of events to attempt to reinforce your beliefs. I simply illustrated how speculation could be used to argue any position, so you should give up on it and go back to the fact that witnesses saw it happen (including police), the jury found him guilty of it, and the judge explicitly stated that he could "understand that verdict and that it implies acceptance of the evidence of the people who were at the scene".

Inventing "Lefty embellishments" that you have zero evidence of, in the face of stated evidence, just to avoid cognitive dissonance is mindboggling.

  • Hard News: Stop the Enabling,

If there was compelling evidence that he punched his boy in the face can you explain why a jury would take nine hours to reach a verdict?

There were three charges laid, two of which they found him not-guilty of. It seems more likely that there was discussion, investigation and contention around these than it being a vast left wing media conspiracy that somehow infiltrated a jury room and judge and convinced them to find him guilty.

Yeah, from their site (which should be updated with this new info btw):

We are currently looking at various venues, including one at a commercial venue off Richmond Road, Grey Lynn. Unfortunately, due to Auckland City Council zoning restrictions, it is not viable to use our original preferred venue which was Grey Lynn Primary School on Surrey Crescent, Grey Lynn.

I'm going to found the "Church that really believes that everyone should have access to tax exemptions".

I could have sworn that already existed

Local school ground was original choice it seems but banned by zoning laws.
This seems a good fit for my continuing campaign to do something with SoHole Square. Terraces of local veges...

Yeah I misread the "this Saturday" meeting bit as the start date of the market! Got the wife rather excited about that...
But one of us probably will head down to that meeting anyway

  • Hard News: Stop the Enabling,

Thanks Graeme. Which interestingly makes the referendum question less insane than I originally held - they are arguing to get rid of that effect (illegal but not prosecuted) for this ill-defined "good" correction.
Still a stupid question but at least I can see that angle now...

Great news about the Farmers Market (although shame it's starting in winter, will make the walk less enjoyable). We'll be members and be there for sure.
One point if they are reading - question 2 on the survey needs explanation ("responsible for" in what way?)
