  • Hard News: The sole party of government, in reply to Alfie,

    Just my 2c.

Yep. I still shout at 3 tho. Campbelll in my opinion proves he has mana. I think he tried “gotcha” once and that didn’t turn out well or at least well respected by me. Thing is the Campbell crew get out and check out what the peeps think. Not what that Hosking thinks. That talking head may as well preen in front of a mirror for all he cares about others.
We watched the Election at a friends who works in TV News. We had both channels on with vox turned down on one of them. Finally toward the end after prompting ,she admitted the graphics were good with the opposition. Twas a hard task ;) Truth is they both falter but I think 3 seems more relaxed. But they got the “gotcha” and I hate that.

I was expecting to see blood seeping under the door and MPs carried away in body bags.

    Metaphorically so,though.

Raymond, I gather you just voted to diminish democracy in our Country yes? I gather you have accepted that corruption is ok , just a little bit now? To suggest that the opposition need to man up is laughable when here comes Johnny just 3 more years. I don't see democracy anymore. Doesn't matter who wins in 3 years . It matters who got in now for why?, well RB suggest ill informed /ignorant/ don't care public. Why do they need then to care about Cunliffe? C'est La Vie.

    1. Most people haven’t read the book and, because they don’t follow politics, didn’t understand (or even care about) the substance of what it depicts.

And that is where our Media have failed then. How is it democracy if it comes via press releases that are not fact checked and it seems what ever our president says is not fact checked either. Inform people so they hold their own and the publics heads high. Then we have democracy. We have enough bloody infotainment in the rags. If I want womens weekly ,I'll get it.

  • Hard News: The humanity, in reply to Craig Ranapia,

OK, Sofie, I think everyone well and truly gets it that you don’t accept the outcome of the election and think everyone who voted for the wrong side is either stupid or malignant

You are wrong Craig. I can completely understand people make choices and I can understand My choice didn't get in. I don't understand how this lot get in without being accountable. I don't understand why ,what I think are bright people will stick their head in the sand and want to look like an idiot for actually voting for this lot after knowing about their operation.

But I can assure you it’s not the media’s fault.

No it's the media fault for not sorting the Dirty Politics shit out for us. The corrupt government that has had 4 days of frilly bullshit stories. just as they like it. Wouldn't want to burn any bridges now that Key has 3 more years. Reporters need to finish their last job about corrupt government before they report the only thing worth knowing about is Labour's internal selection process. Key does a quick mention about Ede then nothing to see here move along and reporters smile and wave with him.

So it was ok when the PM was being given a hard time before the election,

Yes it was. He as leader of a corrupt Government was doing his best to lie to us yet again and avoid telling us any truth about his staff. we pay their wages The man is useless as a Leader and a liar.

not ok when the Leader of the opposition who has just lead the party to a historical defeat is trying to be tricky, is called on his actions

It's not ok to question the Labour Party when John Key has slimed into Parliament as the Government and lets Collins and Williamson back in and still wont tell the truth. He even lied about Jason Ede resigning of his own will. Yeah right and I'm an alien. How about the press ask Key again to explain. That's the Leader that needs to stop being tricky? (his word, he can own it)

And by being tricky will not resign but wants his colleges to vote no confidence in him so he can rort his own re-election!

Oh stop it. What do you care about Labour's selection process. Grasp that straw. Pathetic.

  • Hard News: The sole party of government, in reply to izogi,

    I don’t know. Does it?

Yes, it's different but at least she is working towards trying to figure it out. National are the true Con.
Maybe it helps to have experienced people that steal from you,or having known a compulsive liar all of his life. Con Artists and I'd suggest drug addicts can get very good at studying and taking advantage of unsuspecting targets. I feel National are like the Kingpin Drug dealers that peddle their bullshit to make the addict come back for more. It doesn't matter if it is bullshit, they will trust you because they have to ,they need a fix. That's when the dealer will waterdown the fix allowing you to believe it's your problem ,not theirs (they have just increased their profit). The addict wouldn't question it's quality cos where you gonna go. You stay with what you know. ignorant and satisfied cos at least you are ok, who cares about the next person. This "rockstar" economy is heading for an overdose Cold turkey was the other option. I suspect the cards will tumble soon. Maybe we will see some justice but somehow I doubt it. I've known too many dealers. Now we got 6o something in the House. Can't see it being the big House tho'
