This just cracks me up, they're sweaters FFS!
I saw Allan Peachey last night as well, blabbing on about 'showing some respect'...showing respect for whom? People who're judging me/others based on a piece of clothing I'm wearing because I'm a bit chilly? Not likely mate, respect having to be earnt and all that...

Thanks Sofie, so it appears I have missed them...*blush*...

I know National hasn't released any policy announcements yet (I find it annoying, but hey)...but have I missed all the major policy announcements from any of the other parties?
Apart from the one currently in Government of course, but umm...isn't that what Governments are supposed to do? Roll out policies?

Re: Pam Corkery's bum exploding...please no, we don't need any more details (even though we're all kinda wondering what you meant by that RB...)...won't somebody think of the Hard News readers?!

I really like the whole 'idea' behind all this, but at the same time have a nagging feeling that it's going to be something that spends forever being fought over/knocked back, and never actually (even getting close to) happening...

Great post Russell, I missed the newspapers yesterday but did see a piece on the news last night which appears to have lifted (almost word for word) the article you mention...yet another depressing example of MSM scraping the bottom of whatever it is they scrape to come up with this kind of reporting...

Country Radio's been tried before and just didn't make enough money...however, with the upcoming frequency auction there's no ruling out that there could be a Country Music format introduced, seeing as how most other tastes/formats are already catered for.
As an aside, there's actually a Country Music station broadcasting in Auckland at the moment, testing new digital broadcasting technologies (on the downlow)...can't remember what the frequency is, but I get numerous enquiries from members of the public at work, asking who/what it is...

I've met Karyn through working in Radio, and in person she's really engaging and knowledgable...I just found her presenting last night to be really really...awkward.

I caught most of 'Rocked the Nation' last night...I thought the items were really quite good, but I found Karyn to be painful ...I don't know what she used to be like a presenter (a bit before my time), but I'd struggle to think of a more uncomfortable, un-energetic T.V host!

As much as it amazes me somebody would write the kind of things that Wishart does, what amazes me even more is that there are obviously people out there willing to pay for it...I can't begin to imagine the world view that comes along with 'Oh boy, Wishart's new book comes out tomorrow, can't wait!'. I guess it takes all sorts...
