Well, I get the impression, that he wants James to engage because he wants to see his POV. I send emails when I want POV from Labour. I'm glad they mostly reply. (Sio is an exception) .It would be good if James could respond just because he made a huge decision to write quite a sad letter. I know it's just one man but it's one Labour man who earnt a right to have a say. We need a labour man to start convincing others that the drivel in the MSM is unfounded. Convince Taslov and we are on the way.

Well Taslov hasn't suggested that. He said he would like some answers. Nothing wrong with that and frankly why attack him for suggesting it's not forthcoming. I actually hoped James would say something, but he hasn't and I respect that but it wont convince others if he wants to make a point. He could be tied up or whatever but he has a voice that started this discussion. Can we not question authenticity now? Yes RB just said he knows him. We didn't know that for 9 pages.

Well he could though, which only helps his case. The position he was campaigning for with Cunliffe in the front compared to what he thinks now, is exactly what I'd expect of an MP if he was in Labour. So if he wants the job he applied for, he needs to easily communicate.The fact he stated he wants to go if he is not getting a leader he wants says, albeit quietly, that he has no faith in the Party to sort it out. If he thought otherwise I assumed he'd jump in along with all of us but ,he hasn't so once again people surmise and will question. I understand Taslov is now saying 9 pages. I think he should be able to ask and I think James could defend himself. To suggest otherwise is suppression innit?

Look, can we stop, for one minute with all bickering. Can we try to accept that people act in good faith in Labour, because it is evident that it has been that way in history. Can we please stop insinuating/analysing that one or another person in Labour has ulterior motive or is a bit better? For what? To win on their own? It ain't going to happen. At this point no one is moving forward. We are feeding a machine of Opposition to Labour and it is creating exactly what it set out to do which is destabilise Labour. It's causing an insecurity amongst the people involved. Hell I believe Cunliffe gave the job of Twitter to staff. Key says he does whenever it suits him. I believe his wife wants to shout and scream because she genuinely feels her man doesn't deserve it. She should know. The fact this info is getting into the public arena so quickly says it all. Yes, its twitter, Yes she did it and yes, Cosgrove is straight on TV to denigrate Cunliffe. And Mallard. says nothing. Meanwhile everyone blames Mallard.
So what is the purpose of James letter. It's his feelings. That's what letters are. It's open so it's public. I really really hope he gave Cunliffe a chance to respond before it went public. If not, he wanted the debate. Maybe to be swayed or for other reasons but he is one of the few people entitled to have a say. I'm kinda glad he is a stranger to me because I would love Labour to all support each other and communicate to each other so it's not the 6 o'clock news. The news embellishes any info it can insinuate as possibly a huge problem without fully knowing. It's all insinuation.. I'm sure this is having a bad effect on them. Instead of bitching it is really easy to email every single one of them which is what I do and y'know what, they reply No Shit Sherlock! I like Labour ,they are being spun and it's working. Everyone is buying in to denigrating them. How about ideas to help instead.? James if Cunliffe wins again, your choice. If you love Labour, you could still help. Good Luck. Labour is so much more than the Leader. That's a winning ticket. -

I see this as strange given the numbers in the Unions supporting Cunliffe. It was the Unions that chose him. interesting that Key made this a Presidential person contest and its interesting that Cunliffe looked knda funny to you. The Labour Party seems to have been forced into a competition against Key and Lucy(I think) said it best that one looks genuine but isn't and the others look smarmy but is.

Its ironic that my biggest hope lies with honourable Nats, who should now be attempting to ensure that their party’s activities are and are seen to be fair, clean, open and honest.
But missing in action for the last 6 years. Have they left in disgust yet? It would be interesting if any of the ex MPs ( that have bowed out, some at the behest of Key) already knew about the machinations of the Party. An awful lot went at the end of the last term in Office. They sure had a clean out. Then there is the unreleased emails from Rawshark and that could align more MPs from TeamKey. Still. I wont hold my breath. English has been the only person to say anything unsupportive about practices that came to light and even that was pretty flimsy. And lets face it, if the public told them they don't care and gave them a Party vote etc, who are they to be honourable. I know of a pretty honourable Tory around these parts and that person found the Party still acceptable no matter any of their behaviour.That paints a pretty clear picture in my book.You have far more faith than me.

He doesn't have much of that. Majority of Harold voters believe KDC is more honest than Key. Honesty is what trust relies on. So he is a liar and still got voted in. How is them bananas on the apple tree? ;)

Sio, is extremely conservative which is what keeps him safe in Mangere. The Pasifika Church are who he listens to and it's obviously someone with clout telling him what they want. He is merely doing as he is told.Until his constituents say otherwise ,he will repeat their views. I honestly don't know his view (I did ask a while back but he never responded) Sadly ,I got the impression ,he joins them in their view. Sadly some people are stuck in the dark ages. And that is the nub of it. Labour is a large cross section of society. Unless they write a new Manual and line up and shoot those who don't comply, we will always see division. I guess HC did a very good job of keeping all in the Party on message. Maybe a pep talk from Helen is needed for the Labour Caucus

From who? They may want Farrar to be more in between now but Team Key are not changing their winning formula. There will be a new Jason Ede. Or he may just be working from abroad. More subtle, maybe. This is a tried and successful formula. Just ask Crosby Textor, who incidentally will still be there in the background, just as they always have been.
But will it have traction?
Yes it will still be worth checking out. The context of this thread has been twisted in the last 24hrs when really it is just one mans view that we are commenting on.The MSM have picked up on it and done no investigation, just printed something. They will continue to do the same with Slug.

Voting for any party prepared to be part of a left coalition would have done.
And the perception was that any coalition couldn't work. People look for strength. A strong Left would have been Party Vote Labour or Green then.
