  • Hard News: Dear Prudence,

Though I prefer the term 'Mactional'.

My head keeps calling it The National Muf Act.

  • Hard News: Dear Prudence,

The end of the story, reproduced below, makes me wonder if the Herald journalist was fired in turn while he was still working on it

I thought the word Eskimo had been omitted. :)

  • Hard News: Dear Prudence,

The whole offsetting industry is an absolute mess, see New Scientist's reporting on the issue.

  • Hard News: It would be polite to ask,

impolite to the media waiting outside.

Even before he got outside there was something about the way he was standing in the dock which made me say to myself "they've lost him".

And I was sad. I hope he gets the chance to grow up a different way some time.

Yes ,how could he be sooo impolite? Shocking! I mean it's not like they had been on his tail from the minute he got parole was it? Oh, wait a minute.....
Sheez, the kid had been hounded, and what you saw was a hounded person being advertised by the media as the youngest murderer continuously.Sorry, but he was on parole. Shit, we have just seen this sort of behaviour directed at Veitch and until he was possibly going to top himself, the media hounded him. Does not make for exemplary behaviour, does it?

Kurariki. For crying out loud, if you people are going to discuss someone at least know vaguely what their name is!

    Quite right! Ok rant over,
On another note, YAY, yes Craig, Paul Weller. all good.:)

Now most news is delivered by presenters and celebrity rules. The same item is presented the same way in many platforms,

Isn't it a Fox trot, thanks to Mr Murdoch?
I can imagine Mr Olmes sitting on his deck on a saturday night with microphone in hand belting out his drivel to fresh air, dreaming of his return to TVNZ, remembering his good old(really old) days, and finishing with "and that was Olmes". If anyone tells me he is back, I will vomit and write a complaint forthwith.

  • Hard News: Veitch,

Who the hell ends up on juries?

am seriously wondering whether our juries are being slanted towards those who aren't overly aware of WTF is going on.

I have never been asked, because I have a minor, minor, reemphasise minor conviction and certainly would be in a category of "peers'' with a wee drug charge but do they want me? NOOOOO I have a slanted view of being aware..

  • Cracker: Of Tweets and Twats,

How about "trampers"? (All wrapped up in their sleeping bags.)

that we not only go "tramping" but that we also have special boots

That could work, slim them done a bit (think of the children) remove the boots and you could have a tramp.....or then it would be back to those pretend cigarette lollies. hmmmm
