Speaking of beggars - If someone asks you in Paris whether you speak English and you answer yes, do not be surprised if a begging letter is thrust into your hands.
I was impressed by their industy I will admit, as the London beggars tend to sit passively on the pavement awaiting succor.

I've met a few Americans who believe the Foster theories, although admittedly in political situations, so I don't know indicative they are of the general American population.
Personally I am more interested in watching the Ron Paul candidacy, now those guys really are adding something new (if kind of scary and weird) to the primary season. There is a vicious little internet war going on between his supporters and opponents, which occassionally produces amusing pictures like this.

"ready Day One" is really really common in service industry sales proposals, not really surprising its been adapted to politics

The Beltway...yet another expression we've adopted here for no real reason. Surely Stuff could have come up with something more original for a political blog. Admittedly they could have sunk lower, and called it No. 10 The Beltway Bloggate

I think virtual worlds as a substitute for real world meetings or even IM is still a little far away - unless easy to use technology that maps one's movements or voice to an avatar while many other people do the same in real time are freely available. Then look at the trend in video conferencing - HP or Cisco (or both?) have put a lot of money into making the VC experience more real, but it costs a lot of money

I remember reading somewhere that one of the best ways to make real money in Second Life was to be one of those people that help real world organisations set up. Besides this two years of fanboyish media interest has surely set up Second Life for the media scare story phase, especially given how much sexual role playing apparently goes on there.
