Blaming Obama and his camp for the "Hillary is Divisive" commentary is pretty short sighted - she has been a political figure since 92 at least and has consistently gathered substantial hostile commentary since about then as well, which was revived when she started expressing interest in the NY senate position.

In theory a parliamentary super majority appointed President (in the context of NZ that is) should offer the highest probability of preserving the current character of the NZ system. However I can't think of any contemporary comparisons with which to test this assumption out. Anyone care to point some out?
Besides, I suspect the NZ electorate would probably prefer an elected President, like Australia did, if given the chance to vote on it. If that is indeed likely then we perhaps should just go the whole hog and have a much wider ranging reform.

Buying Phil Collins CDs helps keep the velocity of money circulation high, so in a way Kyle your father is a Hero of the Pro Globalisation Counter Recession Strike Force.

The problem with relying on TCL as your saviour for high speed internet is that they are at the mercy of their owner for investment capital. Just how long will Telstra (Australia) keep the tap (sort of) open?

Now that I think about it I am kind of surprised that our fearless moral guardians/the Press have not looked at Suicide Girls long since.

Given that Australia is now run by a party that has spent the last few years promising to devote serious effort/resources to improving telecommunications/internet infrastructure and that any actual action towards this will start happening this year I believe that there is a strong possibility it might become a political issue here as well.
Any bets that a NZ party (small or large) promises during the upcoming election campaign to spend big to fix the internets?

The Whitlam Incident should alone be enough reason to seriously look at reforming or replacing the current system, or so I believe.
I wonder if the Herald's Should We Become A Republic series will bring it up? Speaking of which, what do we think about that?

The Borough Markets are nice because they provide guaranteed reliable street food at and are a great place to meet for lunch if you can't. Its like a mall food hall but not shit, without teenagers and with people thrusting delicious samples upon you at every turn

I don't know if anyone reads Peter Hamilton's scifi here, but in his latest book the semi bad guy was born in Oamaru. Hooray for small town NZ references by contemporary British scifi authors!

I'd like to have it noted for the public record that I have never thought Mary was a common name.
