  • Speaker: An Open Letter To David Cunliffe, in reply to Rob Stowell,

he comes across dry and dull; a most unlikely prime minister.

Oh come on! The man likes The Clash, The Smiths and Woody Guthrie. ;)
It is also said ,he's a good debater. That can help anywhere. Dry and dull is just an opinion so that don't really matter unless you and only you get to choose eh?

  • Hard News: Doing over the witness, in reply to Dylan Reeve,

a lot more damning than one press statement and a shit ton of speculation.

I believe what Hager is telling the public because this is in the public interest of which has been Hagers claim all along. Whilst I have had decent treatment from the Police when my Mum died and we waited for the Coroner etc, I normally am treated as a second rate citizen. I put that down to them thinking I'm a Maori, (even Maori think I can pass for ""1 of them" of which I feel privileged). So together ,we have Hager telling us what happened. We have the Police being basically honest in their explanation of events but as for motivations, I'd blame hierarchy, whether it be top Brass or from atop the Hive, is anyone's guess. Police are massaging data in this Country. That is only to please the Government. Police can act in an untoward manner. That's a fact ,I've experienced it. You seem to be speculating more than the speculators. This spectator thinks. Like KDC and the fiasco caused there, I suspect the Police are trying to cross their t's and dot their i's so as to not have a similar situation in court. Go back to John (Hancock) Banks, the Police couldn't find enough evidence to bother, the public did and a Judge did. Take, David Bain, Collins efforts there were remarkable with regard to process, the Police didn't help there . I'd sugest have a look at Police doing anything for Louise Nichols when she first complained. The Police were quick smart to protect their own.

  • Hard News: Doing over the witness, in reply to Dylan Reeve,

So I don’t know if 5 officers for ten hours is unusual or not. I wouldn’t have too much difficulty believing that it’s not.

I’ve had a few searches in my time. Once it was 4 cops ,2 were D’s, 2 were plain uniforms. If memory serves well, They were looking for someone else, recognised me and “stayed” to go over my room. Would have taken 30 mins all up with questioning me.The Policewill do as they please with their information if it serves their purpose. I lost my job within a day or two from that visit. They did nothing about the other guy when he wasn’t home. Just glanced in his room. The blood on his wall didn’t concern them. Freaked the shit outta me!
Another time I was in a 2 room bedsit. They sent in a decoy to case the place.A woman D knocked on door, said she was looking for so and so, I explained, I’d just moved in, she went away. 3 (her included) came back afterwards, went over the place meticulously but didn’t do every moving box, then I was offered leniency for information. They could pay bills etc , make my debts go away . How nice. I knew the one roach they found wasn’t even a charge. One had put it in a top pocket. This story carried on in ways not worth carrying on about (suffice to say, I'm no informant , my Lawyer did his job, they supposedly got a bollocking) but jist is ,my small place took at least 1 hour. Not 10 . They were obviously meticulous at Nicky Hagers. One may have been forensic. One probably was a photographer and a bunch of them would have continued searching whilst talking on the ph to Hager.

Tuesday afternoon’s Panel on RNZ with Dita de Boni and Penny Ashton was a blow for sanity

Will go find that. Thanks, Ashton is one of my Family names and de Boni impresses me more and more :)

but a formal policy of compulsory reading might be hard.

We had "Lord of the Flies" and "Shakespeare" which when looking, one could see similarities. Also,Jack disagrees here, but I think 15 yr olds would be a worthy audience. It is then that the Hager books would have a powerful lesson in behaviour and treatment of others. At my age, I'm past being surprised.I'm over thinking things will change. I'm resigned to believing in our country being individual. I had hopes on Sept 20 but I knew the machine was big and powerful and with the added touch of corruption (no matter which way it's measured, big or not so much as the next country), it was going to be a tough call. That's Labours naivety. They keep looking in and not out,but that's just my opinion and I digress .

  • Hard News: Doing over the witness, in reply to Jack Harrison,

Yes ,I'd like it compulsory reading in high school along with Hollow Men.People seem pretty complacent. It is also proving to be the only way to show Team Key for who they are and their complicit behaviour. Sadly I've never liked or trusted them and if history is indeed showing similarity to what we are seeing here, you can bet ya there is similarity to where we are heading right now.

We live in hope Jack. Still, once law is changed, we then need to repeal . That takes a lot of time assuming all Parties will want that.

  • Hard News: Doing over the witness, in reply to Marc C,

Key and his government know, the opposition are licking their wounds, so it is the best time to use the momentum and create irreversible facts in policy and decision making.

Nah Key won the Election and that was the time everything was /is put in to place to carry through all the plans they have been designing these last 6 years. They have cleaned house, positioned people , softened the public, convinced them it's a mandate because they suggested it relentlessly last time. In essence they have confirmed the plan which is now in it's final stages. We will be mini me USA. Globalisation, don't ya jus' luvit? Corn corn corn.

  • Hard News: Doing over the witness, in reply to Tinakori,

That’s fine as long as the perpetrator is prepared to accept the consequences should they be caught.

I should be able to help the public. Honesty is your best policy and sometimes you break a few eggs. In the public interest of information is a law unto itself . Deemed so. Teasing? Yeah, ok. More like bitchin'
