Hard News: Haphazardly to war, in reply to
On that logic the NZ military could never do anything,
On the contrary. Peacekeeping and policing UN mandates are a far better way to show ourselves to the world.
no military action is without risk.
Indeed but it must be better to do something positive rather than continue the failed strategy of just killing more people, however symbolic that may be.

The decision is about symbollism, and symbollism matters.
Hey, let me know when the first kid comes back in a symbolic box.

Just shows you how right we are, really. How they keep on fighting us. Primitives. Look at them liking things that we don't like, doing things that we stopped doing as much as thirty years ago.
Yeah. Just like Labour eh? Wanting to look after unsuccessful people instead of the "Winners"©,. I mean, I am a tax payer, I pay for the losers out of my "Hard Earned Money"©. Put 'em all in the Army I say and send them off to war. That will teach them respect.....

I'm pretty sure the answer shouldn't be "let's just leave it up to the PM." And that's what's really getting my goat right now.
The bare minimum should be to put it to a vote in the House. Had Sabin not been "put out to graze" there would have, no doubt, been such a vote and Key would have won. Make of that what you will.
Had the vote been held would we now be seeing a vote of no confidence?
Unfortunately I think not, Key and co are above such petty indulgences. -
Yeah I get it, Labour is the new inexperienced party, how silly of me.

Its just not cricket anymore. I think you are talking about the same thing as the alcohol industry using the police force. There appear to be considerable police resources doing into dealing with drunken behavior on the Friday nights.
It seems The Herald editorial agrees

Labour because they see us as rivals for "their" rightful votes
[citation needed] I reckon. This is the sort of attitude does no-one any good. If the sniping continues we have little hope of ridding the country of the most corrupt Government we have seen in the history of NZ.
We have to work with each other, not against. -
Are we talking about this fruitfly
If we are then it makes it all the more scary, could be a superfly from a secret eco-weapon laboratory in Grey Lynn.
EEEk oh Terorism!
It won't be long before JK has to put troops on the ground in the inner suburbs to "protect us from this clear and present threat". -

From the article you linked to...
Milich remains impressed by Key. "Any guy who has come from a state house, has educated himself and made money has got to have a brain. John is a very clever man and has the memory of an elephant."
So, the "brain fades" really are bullshit. He is a trader and traders are shady characters. You don't make trades on guesswork and gut feelings, you make them on knowledge, even if it is pattern recognition you still have to have knowledge of the elements of that pattern. You could say all trades contain an element of inside knowledge and that, must be kept secret, insider trading is a big no no.
