er ... in case it wasn't obvious: I was__ taking the piss __with my justification for going noocular - it's the sort of reasoning one sees in the MSM
and, following the utube links on pg 12 from jon_knox I also discovered this one
whilst military grunts aren't noted for their mental fitness I would have thought even an imbecile would know better than to use German deathmetal as the soundtrack for your US Killing Machine vid??? The Nazis would be proud ... -
New Zealand must build it's own Nuclear Power Station if we are to compete effectively in the Global Economy! Why should we play catch-up with Australia?! This is an opprtunity for NZ to display it's technological advantages on The World Stage! Safety is not an issue if we build it on [choose a remote] Island!

no worries Milly, in 5 years you can pull it all out and buy your first home for $300k ($400k if you live in Auckland). And you'll have a $5k contribution from the Government too, so stop complainin' Hosannah!

what's that Penn & Teller show on Prime called? Ah, yes ... BULLSH1T!

(the housing market ) is transferring money from the poor to the rich and from New Zealanders to the shareholders of overseas banks.
Damn straight. Most NZ banks are Aussie owned and yet the bulk of their profits are derrived from NZ, not Australia. They be laughing. Especially when the get a wink and a nod from the Reserve Bank to stop being so competitive on mortgage interest rates.

good = could
(but you figured that out, didn't you?)

You ever need a bouncer to put a suit in a headlock I'm your man Graham! Just say the word.....
Hey, who needs to be asked? Let's all go down there (PA readers in Auckland) on Thursday and look nonchalant until Mr BusinessSuit gets testy again. AND THEN WE POUNCE AND GIVE 'IM A GOOD KICKING!! (Hey, its time we toughened up the image of bloggers)
And speaking of Olde Auckland I was very disappointed to return to NZ to find the seaview I enjoyed when driving down Princes Street from the Maidment to Shortland Street (yes kids, it was named after an actuall street!) was defiled by The Scene Apartments. There used to be a nice respite at the lights by The Hyatt where one good gaze wistfully at the harbour and Rangitoto. But no more, for it has been blocked out. The council does not view viewscapes as having any value.

Funny!
More funny if they had of introduced him as 'Winston Pedo'
[Off topic] I saw in the news the other day that somewhere in China they are building a replica Rotorua. We are supposed to be honoured evidently, part of a sister city thing evidently, yadda yadda yadda evidently.
Whilst overseas I saw the same story on TV but this time it was a copy of Devon in the UK. Evidently they are replicating towns from all over the world.
Those cunning Chinese! Not only are they taking over the worlds manufacturing, but soon they'll take over the world's tourism. Imagine it: a seven day tour of Rotorua, Devon, Madrid, New York, etc etc all from the comfort of one coachliner!
Oh well, they have been making the world's souvenirs for yonks already.

He (Cullen) has presided over an economy that has grown by a third in his time, seen unemployment come down to next to nothing and never been into recession. As a business owner I especially like the last bit.
Yeah, but as that bloke on NZ Dragons Den said, it would be pretty hard not to make money in this economy - ie the global economy has been going so strongly we really should measure our 'success' by how well others have performed. I sold a house for a buckeload of money. I did well, or so I thought. It was only when the guy I sold it to then onsold it for a bucket more that I realised I hadn't done so well.
I think Cullen will be remembered for having the nerve to address both our savings and retirement issues.
Yeah, I give him credit for that. And better still, I think he's set the benchmark for other politicians - which is why Key is so 'pragmatic'.

They are probably too busy with check points or something or other but surely great punchups which often result in death and serious injury in NZ and get dragegd through the news for a week are worthy of a bit of attention.
Back in my day the cops were too busy luring 16 y.o. shop assistants with self-esteem issues back to the station for consensual sex. But I take your point and you're right. This govt (and the one before it) are more focussed on revenue and 'outcomes'. Outcomes are easy when you can say "we ticketed X00 motorists"
IT WAS A BABE MAGNET. Clapped out cars are not babe magnets. Ergo, my Morris was not clapped out.
Ah, that would explain those calendars. The women are not drapped over the bonnets, they're stuck there, such is the the power of the babemagnetmobile ...
