My brain is only operating on 20 watts of energy.

I think those bio wet cell batteries run around 12.5 watts with a good supply of potassium and sodium and efficient myelin insulation on the synaptic axons.
Sounds 'dim' but it keeps multiple 'ions' in the fire, without setting the entire gray cranial forest of dendrites ablaze.

What are you quarantining - surely that rust won't spread to plants?

Why is a supposedly impartial chief political reporter like Jessica Mutch-Mckay politicising her ‘live interview’ with the PM?
    see:
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/one-news-at-6pm/episodes/s2020-e77
at 12:38 she starts by saying the package has been criticised (after coverage of people saying it was good) and then ends by saying people criticise that it wasn’t fast enough and adding "I guess it will be for people to decide in the coming months and on election day just how fast that package has been."
    - Not helping!!!

This is very negative spin and does not help the situation – Mutch-Mckay needs to stick to the story at hand and not politicise it or throw in dog whistles!

The last thing we need is ‘changing horses mid crisis’ – and Bridges’ and Goldsmith’s seemingly bottomless sump of negativity and platitudes is not a productive way forward

    I have complained to TVNZ.

Wouldn't surprise me if the suddenly 'on-board and caring' President Trump tries postponing this year's elections in the US of A... you know, for the health of the people!

Sad - but inevitable - to hear that the Auckland**Pasifika Festival** has been cancelled for a second year.

I hear a lot about social distancing - but surely we'd have to keep that up until a vaccine is available... a year or more they say (much less if you are Trump).

They are fighting for two different processing areas in the brain.
The visual cortex in the occipital lobe and the primary auditory cortex which lies in the superior temporal gyrus of the temporal lobe.

One size does not fit all...

speaking of 'vintage kiwi rock acts' - anyone who wants to own the rare self-destroying vinyl in vinyl Great Unwashed double single from 1984 - Look No Further!
    https://www.trademe.co.nz/music-instruments/vinyl/45-rpm/pop/listing-2515958713.htm?rsqid=8ff27e6570a540faba360cc95a5b9c4b-002

I have no idea if these are still actually playable - as the records have traces of the vinyl packaging 'impressed' on the surface - someone who knows how to clean (Clean) records properly might well make a profit out of this - I started the sale at $1 (to take advantage of the Trade me no success fee offer) but it has only climbed to $7.60!!
There was me hoping for the kind of frenzy that saw a humble Export Lamb single go for over $500 last year - it's a funny old world...

  • Hard News: The next four years, in reply to Sacha,

Speaking of Spam - I was depressed by one of Radio NZ's summertime radio attempts to educate the public - namely about Acronyms, they correctly identified 'Laser', 'Nasa', 'Scuba' as acronyms, next they used 'Radar' which is slightly more problematic and not a true acronym, more a contraction - but I'd let them away with it ...
But then they said 'Spam' was an acronym when it is totally a contraction of Spiced Ham (and a trademark)!
What is the point of illuminating the masses when truth gets lost in the shadows created. I don't like to see sloppiness creeping in to the heart of public service broadcasting.
