So the photo the Herald is showing of a coffee tent next to the voting sign is also dodgy?
But. Paragraph 5 of section 217 says
Notwithstanding anything in this section, the provision of a light supper after any election meeting shall be deemed not to constitute the offence of treating.
It seems quite a strange piece of legislation and quite amusing.
It reminds me of an old joke.
Guy walks into a bar and orders a drink.
"Sorry Sir. I can't serve you because we're not open officially for another ten minutes"
"Oh I'll just wait then" says the punter
"Fine" says the barman
"would Sir like a drink while you're waiting ?" -
Thank you Matthew. The moment i posted that I remembered, must be getting senile.
Remember the old adage... Vote early & vote often ;p
Ha, When I went to vote the lady asked me if i had voted before so I said "Yes, I always vote, I vote early and often" She gave me a look normally reserved for those who have just broken wind and said "Well If you don't use your democratic right to vote they may take it away from you and we wouldn't want that, would we?"
"It's OK" I responded "I'm not voting for them"
Joy and merriment abounded. I then went off and bought a cream donut with a big dob of red jam on top to celebrate. -
In answer to my own question and for the benefit of anyone who was looking for the same stuf.
TVOne has a good site set up for today. And, of course electionresults.govt.nz/ will be displaying results from around 7 tonight.
Like you didn't already know that :-P -
I've just been looking at the Election08 site (TV3) and I can't find anywhere to view results as they come in, not that there would be any yet but I wanted to be ready. Where is all the analysis, the swingometer thingy, the worm or whatever. Does anybody have a better site?

Well. I've voted. Who won? come on, the suspense is killing me.

Turnout in the sate Māori seats will decide it I reckon.
Are they the ones with the spicy peanut sauce? ;-)

Well. I was just chatting with Helen, our esteemed PM, about my prediction, she figures 38.7% against my 38% but was , visibly, apprehensive about my suggestion of a tactical vote for NZF. Trotter agrees with a tactical Winston vote (well he would eh). If you're in Epsom go National, however wrong it seems, it will kill ACT and the yellow peril we know as dancing Rodney. It's gonna be tight folks but we are in with a chance. Be smart, think before you vote. Good luck Labour and may the force be with you, as it were.

In other news: I still think we're fucked. Sigh.
Oh Danielle, don't believe the hype. Stay positive, vote early, vote often.
;-) -
Mr Barnes: Guess which finger I've got rigidly extended at this very moment?
Not sure Craig but while you're there check that prostate.

I guess I owe you a beer, then !
I shall hold you to that. Cheers.
