yeah its definitely way easier to stop
Generally with a smile on your face also.
I have just learnt that three 19 year olds I know were walking along Richmond Road last weekend quite late of the night with a few drinks under their belt.One peeled off to go home, the other two continued up Richmond Road toward Ponsonby, one, a wee bit more drunk than the other. As they passed a school some guys came out and started to harass them. It is suspected they too were drunk also. Suddenly one of the guys I know is knocked unconscious, and when the friend went to his aid ,he too was punched to the point of things going hazy. At that point he was blacking out when he was dragged to the curb, where they placed and stomped on his ankle and broke his leg. Group of people against one guy.
Because of the alcohol, their memory is not good enough to identify. One is completely blank, the other has partial memory, and broken bones consistent with brutal force. As the other was heading off to Hospital today to visit them, he questioned why anyone could want to hurt another like that. He is regarded as the smoker. -
It certainly is a week to target smokers

I was seriously considering being stoned for a Plunket nurse visit after reading his post. ;)
The comedian on the TV said last night after reading in the Bible that those who work on the Sabbath need stoning, he pointed out he loved being stoned on the Sabbath.

I am not paranoid at all. I just don't like the laws that are badly drafted laws with no consideration to the facts/stats. If the Government of the day would act honestly, with consideration of the facts, I am sure the country would operate in a sensible manner and the Police (who truthfully know the odd smoke is less harmful than other drugs) could earn the respect they should hold because they are dealing with serious issues.
Instead tonight we see the hypocrisy of condoning more laws that don't show facts. Then the news exposes the hypocrisy of Scotland yard when at least one of their staff beat and killed a protester, Blair Peach, but announces not enough evidence. -

Actually totally believable.The polie already grab computers in raids. Face book and other sites are often targeted by cops for info. For drugs, the police have always relied on informants which, is an old information highway. Also informants remained active because of their supply of info and the police would bargain a deal to get that info. I know because I know what it feels like.and how it is when you don't cooperate. Interesting too what cops are prepared to allow in order to get particular people.Now I guess people wont be required so much. Big Blue Brother is watching you!Whose gonna watch the watchers?

T'other day Mikey Havoc asked Goff (and had asked Joyce also the previous week) why decisions of drunkeness, how much you are drunk, and the expectation that the law expects drunk people to decide their ability to drive,when they are drunk. Why is alcohol treated so differently? Neither really had an answer.
Edit And, Jim Anderton is just calling the hipocrisy right now between Alcohol and tobacco.
