  • Speaker: Freeviewer Diaries: Family Unity,

The MySky box does do the "whoops, can't do that" warning and gives you options as to which one to cancel. I've only come across it the once (I think they're extending the number of simulataneous records via firmware updates?)

What's getting me at the moment, is that there isn't really a great deal of shows I want to watch at any time. The Series Link is getting it's heaviest work out from the Daily Show and then two or three others. That's it. Is this just a downtime in network scheduling while we wait for new seasons to start?

And re Mad Men - I somehow seem to be recording two versions on a Sunday, one at 9.30ish and another at close to midnight. Anyone know which season they each are?

Yes, now that we have qualified for the World Cup for the second time we should stop playing the sport that we've been really rather good at for quite a long time now.

It's great that they got through, great that the crowd was so into it, and I'll certainly check out their progress to and in South Africa. But I couldn't help think exactly the same thing when Fallon was going on about "rugby stealing the limelight and now we should get our share". Well come see me when you're top of the world game and regularly play matches of an amazing skill level with the best in the world. It was telling that the Black Sticks got through to the World Cup on the same weekend, yet I think I saw one 20sec news piece on it. The spotlight on you getting to the World Cup is deserved, but will (or even should) it last once you're out in the early rounds?

And really, do you want a bunch of us wankers that haven't played football since we were eight, and only went to one game in the last 10 years because we dossed near Stamford Bridge and some guy at work had free tickets to suddenly go on about how great football is and we're so like totally into it?

Full points to the NZ Football chiefs if they can actually capitalise on this and lift the involvement, training and development of soccer off the back of it. Milk the limelight guys to develop the sport to a point where you earn it off your performances.

Titewhai also said on TV somewhere the other day that the big deal about the email was strange when they were english words made up by the white man.

Well if they'd been in Euskadi it probably wouldn't have made much of an impact.

Damn you people only taking offense at offensive statements because you can understand them

    Yeah, it's a dumb name.

Hey, it's a cool looking game, but yeah that's a pretty grandiose title for something most of us do at the beach with our dog...

I suspect that being a working DJ getting paid for gigs, playing to the quad for hours for nothing would feel quite a lot like punishment...

Tutus and sequins and faux tantrums are fine, but that has to be supported by athleticism to work as a sport, and not just showbiz.

Are we talking about the Italian test yet?

And now he's obliquely referring to the French Revolution (although Goff as Louis XVI is a bit of a stretch).

Sam's right, there's an awesome Dan Brown novel in here somewhere.

True, perhaps Hone was trying to convey theological French history and his preference for approaching indigenous rights through the lens of Roman Catholicism...
