  • Hard News: So-called celebrity justice,

    my bad

I think it's just the size of that industry, and hey, maybe people wouldn't have put it together but anyone with an inkling would likely have had it confirmed.

Self-edited - like that joke but probably didn't gel here... =)

  • Hard News: So-called celebrity justice,

And it seems the ghosts of the intertubes agree!

  • Hard News: So-called celebrity justice,

i hope you're not referring to mine cos unless you know then it's not even close to being obvious

Yeah, you've just described his style of music, what he does, his racial background and the types of people that supported him. In an absolutely tiny industry - I do know who this guy is, but still, you've narrowed it to literally a couple of people

  • Hard News: So-called celebrity justice,

Wow, a couple of comments here are really running close to the "clever game to identify him" aren't they?

  • Hard News: The March for Democracy,

All this talk of Democracy, or the perceived lack of it, can be traced back to the anti MMP brigade, could all this have anything to do with the upcoming referendum regarding that?

But it's so easy to demonstrate that their perceived issues would be made dramatically worst by returning to FPP.

ETS and the DOC, foreign investors planting native trees on conservation land and the Brethren.

Brethren seems an odd chuck in there, but I suppose a link between "we want to use the conservation estate for income generation, and given we've already given iwi access to crown land to do so it would be awfully racist of us not to let Bell Atlantic in to do the same" is a plausible statement. But somewhat ironic given you're making it in a thread that has partly become about unsubstantiated conspiracy... =)

  • Hard News: The March for Democracy,

Vanity Fair's article from a few years back on the NORAD response on the day was a pretty amazing read too.

    It certainly is.

And is an interesting take on the life of conspiracy theory. At the time, the whole "WELL WHY WERE THEY ON SOME LOCKED DOWN TRAINING AND CONVENIENTLY IGNORING US AIR TRAFFIC OVER NYC???!!" meme was at a high point. The light of truth has seen that part of it die away, with other strands unfortunately taking it's place.

  • Hard News: The March for Democracy,

I'm astonished that The Ground Truth: The Story Behind America's Defense on 9/11, the recent book by John Farmer, hasn't been huge news in the US.

Vanity Fair's article from a few years back on the NORAD response on the day was a pretty amazing read too.

  • Hard News: So-called celebrity justice,

Oh lord. Now the Herald has thrown it to Your Views and vox pops.

Do they always pre-screen Your Views then? Someone on Albert St is very busy redacting at the moment I imagine.

And we have to remember, "celebrity" doesn't always equal wealth/priviledge/a-good-thing. There would be plenty of people that are widely known, media interesting and whose future earning potential would be substantially harmed by a minor offence being turned into HoS lead fodder. The test isn't "celebrity", the test is "the relevant impact/punishment of publishing" (happy for Graeme et al to post actual legal tests, but ya-kna-mean)

  • Hard News: The March for Democracy,

It's not as if there's a whole heap of data lying around which can be used to predict how skyscrapers will react

Including WTC7. I love how some of the truthers say "no building has ever collapsed from uncontrolled fires". Well yes, because no other building has been allowed to burn for hours and hours on end without any attempt to put it out.
