Sometimes, people might just want to have bigger fun.

Or might genuinely want to expand their mind. My parents, (aunties, uncles) were of the generation of mind expansion and frankly I am glad they were on that bus (yes ,there was a book) because I believe they made great parents and probably their experimentation was part of that. They certainly have a broader view of drugs available now than many of my friends parents do.They are also not quick to judge others. I like that.

in his 40s deciding P is the best way to relieve stress and taking it to the point where it "was becoming an issue.

It's the scene. There is a social group that move in the same circle and actors go there(and hairdressers)As a social situation, one partakes, for pleasure. Going faster is fun, so exciting(that's what P does, it adjusts your mental/physical state at first, then you keep looking for that buzz, which is always around the corner, so that pleasure gets harder and harder to find. That's when you see the desperate situations. I think P is the insidious one, as control goes out the window when physically one can't keep the pace and after a while the mind and body break down if one continues, and then one reads stories about snakes and ladders. The go slow drugs aren't as radical, no story there then, but for some, the excitement of P probably does relieve stress, I'd suggest just as Ritalin can.
John Waters said to Stephen Colbert recently, Wouldn't you rather your kid be a drug dealer, than a drug addict?I'd have to agree.
    Well said Ben 8)

A bit like Willie Apiata running for Mayor and the Herald referring to him as a pig-hunting farmer.

Thing is, if he did run, he just could win. Disciplined, knows how to keep his mouth shut. Takes orders well. cares about man and country (ours). and..and photogenic! The man is made of win really, but can he play Rugby? Probably.

It is always pretty hard to trust a user, whatever vice. Cred does go out the window with the many stories that wander the grapevine.Consequently Prast probably has fallen into a hole, but with Banks' family history, who knows, anything goes? Maybe Prast figured he has just as much chance as the others so far. Let's face it, what a selection.

  • Hard News: The McCully Touch,

As for the ANZ government's response to the Japanese intrusion into the Southern sanctuary - whimpish, cringing, and lap-doggish all actually come to mind. Definite, forthright, & principled? Not at all.

Cant argue with that now, can you? :)

The one with the glasses, or the one without the glasses?

Don't think alcohol is the issue here.;)
    I'll get my coat.
FWIW, I like the one and truly honest bit of information that Simon Prast owned. Not the bullshit I had become used to hearing from other candidates

  • Hard News: The McCully Touch,

I presume Aotea Square has already been looked at and dismissed. Would it collapse under the weight? How about the yet-to-be-developed spaces at Britomart?

That was what the council originally wanted until it was hi-jacked by the twits. The Britomart area you mention is doing rather nicely with more space to still lease and guess what, recently whilst down there for a drink I noticed several new bars down there (even popped into a few), but Aotea would work as it stretches up to Myers Park, K Rd etc.

  • Hard News: The McCully Touch,

The Ponsonby green bus does the loop into town and back up past the Cavalier(a rugby pub with screens already) so one could get all over the city without so much as a "wait at bar till a bus comes along". Sorted.
