This feels like the appropriate place to note the passing of legendary documentary photographer and portraitist Jane Bown . There's such a lot to look at in each of her pictures. I'm glad to own her Men of Consequence . If only I had the Women of Consequence to go next to it!
Her pictures are proof of what can be done with available light and informal moments. -

I consider myself of around average intelligence and have used an app before, so it should be easy right, but nothing, NOTHING, has made me feel as lost, hurt and confused as the Spotify UX. It’s likes it actively hates music, listening to music, or people who do in fact want to listen to music.
I am genuinely relieved to confirm that it’s not just me.
Bahaha, you guys have obviously never used Freegal! You could not imagine such a hostile user-interface.
Having said that, I sometimes use Spotify and think I don’t like listening to music. “It’s all crap!” I think. -
And old mate of mine’s in new band Glass Boat, and they just made a live EP. Beautiful folksy stuff from the ’Naki. Have a listen for free on Bandcamp, and if you wanna buy, it’s only eight bucks. Bandcamp lets you buy and send as a gift, I'm sure someone you know would love it.

There’s a wonderful book I bought in a second-hand shop a few months back of NZ Railways anecdotes, taken from historic railways periodicals.
I can’t tell you the title, because I lent it to Mum and she won’t give it back!
*I will find out though

One of my recent faves is an out-of-print children's book documenting the lives of two children living on a lighthouse on Farewell Spit in the 1960s.

To be fair, “Lorde” was buzzier in 2013. Another word should get a shot this year.
Seems pretty buzzy to me...
