I kind of agree with Gio. The RWC is a system, or a culture, if you will, and - unsurprisingly, for some - it's become wee a bit of a horror-show.

Telecom's head of retail Alan Gourdie sez:
"...it's pretty obvious to all that we misjudged public opinion. So you may or may not be surprised to hear that following the strong reaction yesterday, we won't be proceeding with the 'Abstain' campaign," the email read.
In a statement issued by Telecom, Mr Gourdie continues: "No excuses. We caused offence to some people, and for that we apologise.
"Full credit to the opposition. We listened to your views, and we have acted quickly to change our game plan."

True, Gareth, except that the story made a premature getaway precisely because the campaign was so bad. When the TVC actually surfaced later in the day, it was - if anything - even worse than imagined.

Debacle hardly seems a strong enough word.
I don't know. At least it was quick.

People who complain that their harsh is being buzzed don't get a lot of sympathy from me.
Hang on. I thought we were harshing their buzz and they were buzzing our harsh.

This promotion is at serious risk of alienating (or at least depressing) members of society who are going through a bit of a dry spell.
Alternatively, it might flush out all the non-black-rubber-ring-wearers.

Did you go to the Billy T premiere, Geoff?

you don't turn up, you don't get paid.
Unless you can't turn up, in which case you do get paid - "on a case-by-case basis".
Note that some Restaurant Brands workers were told yesterday that they would not be paid due to the shop being closed for snow. Head office has apparently "clarified" their position today.
-
Meanwhile, workers at KFC, Pizza Hut and Starbucks get told "you have no job when it snows".

How about setting up a donation thing for Haywood's power bill? I'm in for $20.
