And where was the fat in MTS' base funding that allowed them to find some or all of the 2 million that has been suggested? Would this have meant job losses, or programme cuts?

the more intelligent can watch TV3 for higher quality commentary,
...Hamish Mackay? Sheesh. I'd rather join the morons watching on TVNZ, especially if Keith Quinn and John Macbeth get to do it. Old school!

Re. Media7, maybe you could ask Janet Wilson if her Bespoke Media Training is providing media training for Anne Tolley.

Does your Mum like Bailter Space? If so, try Velox in Newtown, currently being run by John Halvorsen.
And, not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but I think this year's WOW is a little bit weaker than in the past. Personally, I never really got in to the costumes, but the dance and musical interludes were often stunning. Favourite memories have to be the Royal New Zealand Ballet performers 2 years ago. That was a real wow for me.

Serious answer:
No.
And a lot of people inside the TV industry think they are a load of rubbish as well. In such a small industry, the idea that an award (usually judged by foreign academics and locals who have been outside the industry for decades) holds any weight is bordering on the deluded. Actually, that may explain a lot...
You only have to look at the best investigative item from last year's awards. Let Us Spray (the TV3 documentary that was a year in the making) has just been hammered by the BSA.

These days, he'd have to be the Count Trim-Soy-with-Calcium-Enrichement.

Dear Craig: please don't ever mention Paul Holmes in a thread about kinky sex ever again.
Yours,
The entire world
He's probably a bit busy burying his mum.

Um.. hell... ah.... I'm not normally this eloquent.... um... GOOD LUCK! (playful punch to shoulder, runs in opposite direction in case Adic is contagious.)

By making provocation a matter for examination during sentencing, the farce would have been conducted away from the eyes of the media. Sentencing hearings aren't broadcast for all and sundry, and without the "bonus" of playing for the jury Weatherston's behaviour would likely have been much subdued.
Unfortunately, the cameras still like to turn up for sentencing.

Tsehai Tiffen had a great story on One News with some of the people who were in the fjords during the earthquake. Beautiful pictures, wonderful characters.
