Everyone should be voting on the same basis with the same information.
It could affect votes for 3rd party candidates. If the results show that the presidential race has been fairly safely decided, then people may be more willing to vote for a 3rd party candidate to get them to a 5% threshold.

Fran O'Sullivan contended this was solely because of the positive gloss offered by the his chance to respond to the Sandy storm.
Because choosing a president based on their demonstrated crisis management skills just wouldn't be right.

Talking of computer techno science thingies, the gamma correction on the Media 3 Extra segments is off. It makes them look all washed out compared to the broadcast segments.

Great. Didn't they learn anything from the whole ACC saga?
Hmm, as the police considered the Urewera 17 to be terrorists, by donating money to Keith I guess I just funded an organization connected to terrorism. Yay!Completely unrelated, I see that kiwileaks.*.nz domains are still available.

A year ago a Dutch IT news website ran a month-long campaign exposing privacy leaks like this from numerous Dutch companies and government organisations. They reported about one leak a day for the month. In the fallout questions were asked in parliament, new guidelines devised, IT systems overhauled, and the journalist behind the campaign got a journalist of the year award.
So there is some hope for Keith Ng.

I find it very hard to believe that the GCSB would put in interception devices inline that show up as hops in a traceroute. That would be a monumentally stupid way to do it.
Far more likely it was just a bit of mess-up in a routing table, which happens. -

Pity he didn't say: I'm sorry, but you guys just don't have the statistical skill to know what is appropriate to do with these data and how to do it.
But the Herald sent their reporters to an intro to statistics course! So they must know what they're talking about.

Legal Beagle: Kim Dotcom and the GCSB, in reply to
I am a New Zealand resident and have a Dutch passport. So yes, nationality and residency are different (otherwise there wouldn't be much point to have two different terms anyway).
One would expect though that as this involves one of the most important restrictions on the power granted to the GCSB, they would be very familiar with these concepts and would ask the right questions. Maybe there is a genuine difference of opinion between the GCSB and the government about the meaning of the law?
