Fair enough, but an exception rather than the rule
We might have frightened the horses with "Once Were Warriors." One sad sad movie. I just hate crying in the dark, makeup runs all over the place like a mad woman's ....

It does go to show that anyone can twist what is said to how they want others to see it though, doesn't it? (not that I'm twisting, I'm just explaining what the twists mean to me).
So many people, so little time, and the pesky media kept pushing for answers...
Who's the go to guy?
Dunno, she'll do.
He said...
She said...
Dada! Press release....
Kinda like that? -
Don't worry - I'm sure Peter Jackson and Toby Emmerich will send you filthy class traitors a truly awesome swag bag.
Soo,question. While our dollar rises, it does become cheaper to go off shore, right? Can someone help with this cos with regard to currencies, we look expensive compared with ,say, Ireland.

"It would almost have to be The Hobbit Amendment Act. It would have to be a special amendment to the law just for this case. Then that is a guarantee,"
See, JK will save the day, if only....

Thing is Chris, this is a group of people with a passion for the exact same Industry/jobs/self employed positions that is quickly falling into an "us and them" situation and for which they, will end up working together again. Then what? Unless each person acknowledges that there is a difference of view and that each can have a different view without being told they are wrong, working together is going to be horrible. I suspect this was not about possible job losses I suspect it was about unity for the good of the film Industry.

No Dexterx, one good thing was that people are getting a bigger picture of how some people had a few issues with their employ, and some parts of employment aren't fair ,that's life. RM is entitled to her opinion just as you are yours. She iterated that she has her own contracts , doesn't use a union, but sympathised with others. She's allowed isn't she? People got to know about their feelings because a bunch of people in the industry showed up for a meeting.
And yes I know some people that have got out of the industry because they felt they weren't always treated fairly.
That's life. -
Hugs to Robyn Malcom :)
For what?
For actually caring about her fellow worker albeit having only the one chance to be represented by a confusing situation that was mishandled and misrepresented, with no help whatsoever from an Australian counterpart that she probably believed was trying to help .That's for what.
Y'know I think timing for this whole shibang was appalling, but I understand that there was a genuine interest for a fair go for those in the industry that is film. To rubbish the messenger for what many of you know is the status quo with this industry and although many of you will have negotiated your own contracts, because you have the confidence, there are some that don't have that and probably hoped for help. Some of this stuff stinks and always has, that is this industry, Key knows too well that all will be well because it is now up to him and this government who do not tolerate unions in the slightest has walked into a goldmine of manipulation of working rights as and how he chooses and, with people obviously out of their depth with regard WB and National, is no reason to bag the one and only good thing that has eventuated. NZers are now more aware of the underlying feeling that does exist for some people in the industry. And yes, some people just leave because certain aspects just are not fair!
As you were.
