Just so we're clear - it wasn't 'stupid', just dodgy.
And as if by magic these CDO's are given a positive risk rating, because for some reason the CDO is rated according to the strongest link in the chain, not the weakest. And those CDO's can be bought and traded on the International market, and down in little ol' NewZealand some fund managers decide to buy some because they're a new trading instrument, and they're hot.
And there's the point where dodgy crosses over into stupid...

They're only useful if you have a functioning intelligence in the chair to begin with.
True of so many things in life...

But it did piss me off that it always pulled me up for using the passive voice, or any sentence with more than 15 words. Would have been good if you could turn certain warnings off, as 'my style' settings.
Umm, you can - Tools, Options, Spelling & Grammar, Grammar Settings.

Maybe the entire nation's suffering from old timer's disease.
You mean like the prostrate problems I keep hearing about?

There will be a lot of people saying this more eloquently, but us white boys is gonna miss you!
All the best with your [redacted] new [redacted] doing [redacted] for [redacted] over there in [redacted] (near the prostate). -
And yet last week we saw the report that NZ reading skill takes a drop. Of course, if you read the article, it shows that our reading level has risen very slightly, and that it's our international ranking that has dropped.
So we haven't gotten dumber, just everyone else got slightly more smarterer...

To be a bit off-topic - does anyone else find that googly-eyed creature to the left there eerily reminiscent of the faux-surrealist sketch in Monty Python's Meaning of Life?
Fishie, fishie, fishie, fish... And it did follow me wherever I did go... -
(One of the advertisers was Burger King who's ads feature soft caore sexual fantasies of women in bikinis. How ironic)
Its beyond irony now, BK, who pulled ads from Californication after the Family First & Catholic Church complained, are now selling the toys from the movie The Golden Compass, which is also being noisily complained about by various churches, including the Catholics.
Now they have their hypocrisy covered from both the jiggly bits & blasphemy angles. -
And with that, I think of next year with this lyric stuck on repeat: "Oh, it's a long, long while from May to December..."
I was in a more Green Day state of mind - "Wake me up, when September ends."

Can I please nominate "Apostrophe-catastrophe" for word of the year?
I's that cau'se you luuurrrvvveee the apo'strophe's or becau'se you hate's them?
Personally, I wouldn't shop at a greengrocer's that didn't have at least three gratuitous apostrophes - anything less shows a lack of professional pride in a historic mercantile tradition.
