__The Bush Dyslexicon__ describes a president who can talk quite clearly on "the subjects that most interest him: baseball, football, campaign tactics, putting men to death."
On the other hand our President is extraordinarily tongue-tied when he's trying, off the cuff to sound a note of idealism , magnanimity or - especially - compassion.
I'm interested to see what topics might draw less waffling from Key.

who needs food, clothing and shelter?I don't deny the crucial role of primary production, but I feel pessimistic about prospects for the little guy. The documentary paints a picture of a Fairtrade model that proceeds on noble intentions, but seems beset by huge challenges.

Good point. And that would be an equally good example of policy being dumped on us late in the piece.

I swear this is true: On my one and only trip across Foveaux Strait, in the summer of 1977, the sky was clear and blue, the sun was shining and the sea was as calm as the Waitemata Harbour.
It was a marvellous day. I was 16 and it was the farthest I had ever been from home. I can't remember if I found a cheese roll, but I know I would have enjoyed it if I did.
