Why is this event so expensive?

I have already abandoned the Herald. A digital subscription to the NYT, a daily look at the BBC and the Guardian... and I used to look at the Herald for local content, but everything outlined in this article is correct, and I'm over it. The RNZ website actually contains some information, and that is where my clicks are now happening.

But only on Sky, right?

Nate Silver is still calling it for Clinton 60:40, but it's really hard to tell this far out, especially in this election. Will Trump attract more previous non-voters than the moderate Republicans and independents he scares off? That seems to me like an unknown unknown that is very hard to poll. I also see the logic in Michael Moore's comments. Remember the 1992 UK election, where even the exit polls had it for Labour... but John Major was returned. So I can well imagine what he calls "The Jesse Ventura Effect" happening. As Moore says: "...because of ... the anger that so many have toward a broken political system, millions are going to vote for Trump not because they agree with him, not because they like his bigotry or ego, but just because they can." The closer the polls are running, the bigger the danger of that scenario happening. The Democrats need to double down on getting their constituents to the polls.

One day we'll have evidence-based legislation, sigh.
I hope, but don't hold your breath. Whether or not you inhaled ;)
Brewed ginger beer will contain small traces of alcohol, but is sold to minors. Correct? Analogous?

Red Peak was indeed the best of the bunch, but I don't think that's a very strong endorsement. I'm all for the status quo until we can do this properly...

Or that might just be my 2 Degrees internet connection. God, I miss Snap.
Ah, you too?

Is Len Brown Auckland's Bill Clinton?
But seriously... People need to fairly appropriate blame for rates rises to the intransigence of central government to allow other forms of raising local revenue. We pay rates in Rodney as well as Waitakere, and things got better not worse after amalgamation. I only hope the next incumbent has the ability to follow through on the infrastructure vision that Brown has been able to establish.

A national team that can the best in the world at something, by such a large margin, and be the subject of such hype, and still be so obviously just regular decent guys: that surely deserves our respect. It's clear why they inspire national pride, in all the best ways. You can see why John Key is so keen for every possible photo-op...
(As for SBW, this tournament has certainly elevated my opinion of him significantly, both as a player and as a person.)

Hugs are fine. Just leave the ponytail alone.
