  • Hard News: Interesting Britain!, in reply to Rich of Observationz,

I’d suggest that any of the Blairite candidates would have done considerably less well yesterday.

Not that we can actually know, but Jeez it would be nice if the speculation about it could just end. It's like Labour here having a Clarkite faction.

It is nice for the Corbyn faithful to have a lot to be happy about, but it's also far too early for post-mortems. There could still be a May government negotiating Brexit, however much my entire twitter feed is calling her demise. From what I can tell, the Tory vote % has also increased, 5.6% at the moment. They've lost seats, for what reason I don't know, but presume it's to do with FPP and vote splitting, but still have the biggest party and a strong chance of making a coalition.

I'm never clicking that. You could have rickrolled me into it, if you'd not mentioned Draco Fanboy.

On the other hand it ids difficult to see how an alliance of all parties against the Tories would have any long lasting future either.

I guess it would come down to whether they were competent in what they did. It's not really that hard of an ask. They could just, like, govern, represent, etc. From memory, even the British Parliament was once capable of those things.

There actually seems to be some promise in CBD as an eczema treatment!

Reduced inflammation through topical treatment sounds interesting, and comparatively easy to make oneself, if allowed to grow sufficient amounts of the plant material.

This analysis of what a hung parliament means is unintentionally hilarious. I mean, it's only normal in half of the world's democracies for an outright majority to not happen, whereas the tone of the article is that it's a constitutional crisis.

The idea that the Tories could have a minority government with the support of Labour is clearly completely unthinkable, even though this was meant to be the Brexit election and they would appear to have the same position on that. I'm not saying it's likely, but it is allowed AFAIK.

I think the British are still firmly in denial about the effects of Brexit.

The Leave camp, anyway. It seems that, like the Trump presidency, there was never a contingency plan in place for if they won.

Curious whether "Registered Medical Practitioner" is limited to doctors, or includes, say, chiropractors. Since back pain would appear to be something that might qualify for treatment.

I'm very, very curious how "non-psychoactive cannabis plants" is something that can possibly be controlled in the wild, since the people cultivating it are going to be pretty much anyone. Does it require some kind of mandatory testing and quality control regime?

I wonder also whether eczema counts as a severe chronic disorder of the immune system. That is literally what it is, although I've never heard of cannabis being a useful treatment. Perhaps as a sleeping aid to someone with maddening itches?

Never, it's all your fault. If you hadn't gone back Brexit would never have happened.

Never watched a British election closely before...how does it usually take to count up?
