  • Speaker: Part 14: My Mind’s Sedate,

I've resigned myself to the fact that due to the lack of great openers we (the Blackcaps that is) will always be 2 or 3 down by the time we get to 50 runs, and then the middle and lower order will do their best to rescue us. If we can win the WC final like that I'm not going to complain!

I think that blogs are a bit like the British newspapers. Kiwiblog is The Sun (largest circulation, right leaning tabloid and a bit of titillation) whereas PA is The Guardian (smaller circulation, left leaning, and generally longer, more serious articles).

This is also a reflection on the authors styles - DPF blogs about anything and everything and goes for quantity, whereas PA has longer, more considered posts.

Each to their own - there's obviously space for both blogs.

I visited Dallas a couple of years ago and was pleasently surprised by theSixth Floor Museum, primarily because of all the info about JFK when he was alive, rather than all the theories about his death. In saying that the Conspiracy Museum is definitely worth a visit, if only to see the guy that takes your money!

A colleague of mine was taken to Parklands Hospital (where the dying JFK was taken) by ambulance and was informed on arrival of their most famous patient. Fortunately my colleague left in a better sdtate than JFK!

  • Hard News: Of course it's about the book,

    Well said Alex.

Isn't it interesting that the main defence of National supporters is simply "but Labour are just as bad" - which isn't really a defence. Not much moral high ground left anywhere is there!

  • Hard News: Aiming for mediocrity. Again.,

Build it on the waterfront! I drove down Quay St on my way home last night and realised that the view would be greatly enhanced by having a stadium there.

There is also enough room along there to do the "green-space" thing - let's put a park on the tank-farm.
