It's 1.5km from the nearest "leezure" area at Customhouse Quay and nearly 3km from Courtney Place.
Still a lot closer than Porirua. Could have been done with more reference to making the stadium interface with the city though, as you note.

Let's also not forget that in previous years France have sent down weak teams, diminished by their domestic competition. Outside of the World Cup it's been a while since the All Blacks faced a full strength side. This wasn't the best possible, but it's better than it could have been.
Ultimately, even though I'm disappointed with a loss, a little more evenness in rugby is in the long term good for the game internationally. It's not good for overseas audiences to see their teams always losing to the All Blacks, and it's not good for New Zealand to feel like they deserve to win.

Since this seems to be the Iran thread, here's the most up to date list of list of English language twitterers broadcasting from Iran.

OT on Iran again, Andrew Sullivan's Daily Dish is also a standout, and has been constantly providing useful information.

I know there's a lot in that post, and I'm bumping in this thread a little early, so I hope I don't threadjack here. However, the #iranelection tag on Twitter is amazing to watch, and has been for the last 24 hours. PA's @tzemingdynasty has been stellar in retweeting and directing to twitterers from within Iran, and is probably the best first place to go to catch up.

I can't help but recall what Mark Thomas went through in 1996 ~ he was a far more experienced but still new candidate, a far smarter operator who still got totally stuffed by the conveniences of the day. If you could swap them but, Thomas has a lot more to offer than Lee.
There is considerable irony in the fact that Mark Thomas was Lee's campaign manager. History never repeats, but it sure as hell echos.

Ubuntu. I'm too hairshirted, geeky and poor to contemplate a Mac.
Seriously though, there was a point to my criticism. Using hyperbolic metaphors with tenuous connection to the point at hand weakens your argument and discredits you.
It's not like New Zealand is lacking in metaphors for describing this style of Government. Simply mentioning Douglas, or "revolution" ("revolution 2.0"?) is enough to connote the style of rapid forced change without reference to the population being conducted here.
To quote from Roger Douglas,
Second Principle:
“Implement reform in quantum leaps, using large packages. Do not try to advance one step at a time. Define your objectives clearly and move towards them by quantum leaps. Otherwise the interest groups will have time to mobilise and drag you down.”
Third principle:
“Speed is essential - it is impossible to go too fast.”
Fourth principle:
“Once you start the momentum, never let it stop rolling.”
Fifth principle:
“Consistency + credibility = economic confidence.”

There's simply no need to invoke the ghosts of Europe, when we have our own spectres haunting the backbenches and providing inspiration.

Would have thought, George, that you'd be busy packing your mansion for the trip back to Godzone (I'm assuming you came from here) ready to make the most of the Nat/Act bulldozer tenders about to be issued, and too busy to trawl PA.
Thanks Quo, that made my day. Off to be humourless and dreary at a climate change protest...

I just want to say how nice and supportive the man on the other end of the line is. If I ever have to confess to killing on the end of an emergency call, I'd like to have that guy.

Learn to shave properly
Shaving with one razor in each hand saves a lot of time. Not quite half, but almost. Laugh all you want, but it works out to at least 500 minutes per year. A full eight hours or so.
