Poppies. Back in the day they would not be safe in your gardens.
Yesterday I noticed my fave tree in the street has put on it’s xmas decorations for me yet again.
Actually, is now a favourite tree of all of them. Better grow one.
I present the fabulous,
utterly fabulous……
…. (supposed drum roll)
Erythrina crista-galli! Common name, Coral tree. -

We must have an alcohol study on the effects of consumption by socio economic status and health effects of depression with consumption of alcohol and other mental health issues?, because I was thinking, poor, depressed about that, drink to feel better, drown your sorrows, leads to more depression, leads to more drinking for those few moments of euphoria/ confidence (get in the car ,go for a spin, cops ,oh no ,had a few and will be pinged for no rego ,do a runner , bang! and then 1 more, leads to angry about your lot, leads to acting/ lashing out. Or hurt your family physically. Black outs follow. Wake up in the morning start again. One big circle. I am quite surprised by the amount of Vodka and Gin I see younger people drinking in wealthier areas. Not a beer or wine. Just hard liquor and lots of it before they head into town. I wonder what is the most sold booze in poorer areas?
But, if alcohol is readily available on most street corners then maybe, just maybe it takes the average suburbanite off the roads by enabling them to walk. I noticed this in Australia and the Uk. Street corners have pubs for locals which I think is better than outlets . Pubs tend to keep behaviour around consumption in check, and locals keep the community in check, leading to more responsible drinking.Jus' thinking out loud. Back to gardening, (doesn't it even sound better )

The British royals whole existence is “unreasonable and over the top”.
And pretty much always has been. So if your point is they should just get over themselves and put up with the paparazzi then, maybe. At what point do you think William was told if he didn't like it he could leave? I doubt that was part of his upbringing. Yes, I agree they are snobs, and they don't float my boat but there are many snobs in the world, many from places like Britain and they all make me queasy but in my view it still doesn't make ill treatment for pranks acceptable either.
Doesn't the Queen pay taxes now? I suspect like so many others there are very good accountants handling their finances. Just like John Key, only Key aspires to be royal and never will be.
Anyway Rich, I do understand your point that they are not on your invite list forever. ;) I'm going outside to check out the sunshine, it's too nice to quibble about that lot. eh? -

Charles himself said to a journalist questioning his view of the call something along the lines of "how do you know I wasn't at the Radio station?" hardly too precious?
He may be regretting that comment now however. And Kate will probably be devastated, adding to her troubles of pregnancy and William will probably feel the anguish of his Mum's constant haranguing by the press and the list of repercussions will go on for history.
Geez, just a little privacy huh? Not too much to ask for.
We are still in the Gladiator ring baying for blood.
We are the feeding frenzy .

We heard them, along with the neighbours setting theirs’ off at 1.30am. Shall be having a quiet day today, me thinks.
Yes, I and Stella are frankly getting a bit sick of firecrackers still going off in the middle of the night since the beginning of November. They seem louder this year and the dog’s wee claws dig deeper in her efforts to leap into my back. I almost jumped out of my skin at the BOOM!! that goes off from satisfied ignorant neighbours. I’d say something in our defence but they already know my views of their ignorance (I’ve had tree dealings) and it would only satisfy themselves more. Such is the ugly side of humanity. But the crackers for the crackies must be louder this year huh?
Arrrgh! the crackers does my head in!! ;)

Yes, it is usually encoded,
But more and more I am seeing examples such as that which Ian linked to. I vaguely recall some changes to reporting being changed not so long back.
I wonder though if we actually are confronted with the truth ,we may well be able to handle issues better instead of the cotton wool all the time. Probably not put the best way either, but it may force the likes of legislation to change for the benefit of educating about the tragedy that is suicide.
I happened to run into someone I know recently, who had a 9 year old family member commit suicide and she said how dumbfounded they all were. I don't think the child had anywhere for help. The rural communities are quite different from the city. We need more education and help that is funded by our Government not funding cuts like another crisis line I was approached about yesterday.
Ok waaaay off topic, rant over.
