Man, doing Great Blends the way they're supposed to be done is a killer!
I am so glad the Auckland one is on a Saturday night.

Do all endings have a defining moment?
Sometimes, but it often doesn't reveal itself as an ending until a some time has passed.
Any premature attempt to draw a line in the sand is usually met with fate throwing something in your face just to prove you wrong.

Me... I'm going to Auckland Ikea as soon as the "opening weekend mad crowd" has gone... (which may take several months?)
Take a day or two off work and go during the week. That way you'll get furniture and retain your sanity. Bonus!

I was hooked as soon as I heard Craig's cheerful delivery of the opening words: "Tits on the Radio".
I'm rather a fan of the 180 Seconds podcasts. It's a nice short length that I can listen to in my browser almost instantly.

The Brunei dollar is roughly the same rate as the NZ dollar.

Today the Herald reports that someone from the Ministry of Justice has been editing Wikipedia articles:
Another two edits added information to an article about English band Echo & the Bunnymen.
This is not news-worthy. This is normal use of Wikipedia. Good on this MoJ employee for contributing.
If someone ever ran a Wikiscanner check on the IPs of my employer (which I'm sure has been done), they'll probably find the various things I've edited on Wikipedia, including - gasp - the time when I changed a comma at the end of a paragraph to a full stop.

Oh, but you know that Sandy didn't really become a slut-arse ho - she just dressed like one. As soon as she grabbed Danny's attention, her boobs would have disappeared beneath swaths of pastel mohair.
Pretty Woman, on the other hand, made prostitution seem like a really fun job.

I’d hazard a guess that of the half dozen or so times I’ve been to a strip club in the past couple of years, it’s been with a mixed group of males and females.
If you want to do some further reading on this, I highly recommend Female Chauvinist Pigs by Ariel Levy. She looks at the modern cultural phenomena of woman are embracing raunch culture and wonders if it's a result of equality or, in fact, the opposite.

Seriously though, who would've thought "have you ever visited a strip club" would be 2007's answer to "are you now or have you ever been a Communist?"
Does anyone remember a similar period (possibly in 1999) when suddenly all these politicians confessed to having smoked pot?
It was mostly stuff like, "Of course I had a wee toke. It was the '60s/'70s and I was at university. It was unavoidable!"
A flood of confessions came from both sides of the House, and then it was very very quickly forgotten, just as I'm sure this strip club silliness will be.

I once had the 'privilege' of being one of the only males present at a sold out performance of Manpower at the Powerstation.
Male strippers are... weird.
I saw a production of Ladies Night and was horrified to be picked by the actor/stripper and made to go for a ride on his motorbike while all these drunken ladies yelled at me to rub my hands over the gross actor's oily chest.
Then there was the time someone got my friend a male stripper for her 21st. I was nerdfully filming the party and thought it was more interesting filming the reactions of the crowd than the stripper himself.
