  • Speaker: Grand Theft Auckland,

Gareth you are making a key incorrect assumption - that the National government would announce a water privatisation and try and defend that.

Rodney Hide feels no need to justify his behaviour - his power drunk display so far over his SuperCity tells us that. We will get a gerrymandered permanent CitRat oligarchy running Auckland if he has his way. And it will be them, not National, that ram through the privatisation of Auckland's water supply. How they'll do it I know not - maybe they'll try another Ports of Auckland type move and set up a public water company with so much debt that it's bound to fail and then they'll privatise it.

Never forget ACT is the party of the Auckland business elite, an elite with a history of preferring to get rich by being in charge of ticket clipping cartels.

I am a bit worried about the form of both Brad Thorn and Rodney So'oialo. Both are looking like we've seen the best of them. Ali Williams is starting to pick up the injuries a lot as well, although the Blues are such a hopeless bunch of losers I wonder if he just couldn't be bothered being associated with them to much.

The All Blacks will be soundly beaten by the Boks this year.

speaking of, here's what one of my Facebook friends said about the pics I posted...

People get really worked up about trade unions to. I don't get it. What is it about democratic collective action that so many people find so threatening that they demand the full might of the state be used to crush the merest murmuring of dissent?

Prior to yesterday my opinion of cyclists was .5 of 50...

What is wrong with just saying 1 out of 100?

I don't get the base five.

Or get him with a few late hits...

Forbid that our boys would indulge in such base endeavours! It was purely an accident, clearly late but with absolutely no malice intended!

The best way to stop a drop kick specialist is to ruthlessly flatten then trample him in the first ten minutes. He'll spend the rest of the game partially in tweety land and "have an off day with the boot."

*and rugby union is inferior as a simple marketable entertainment to the NRL's rugby league

  • Field Theory: The Super 135,

I predict that the Air New Zealand Cup will collapse under this arrangement. Who wants to sponsor a competition which not only doesn't have any All Blacks, but has all the Super 15 players out for the first rounds (and we all know that after seven months of rugby they'll all make excuses to be away anyway)?

This arrange means the end of first class rugby outside the five super franchises. And with that, the final destruction of the New Zealand game.

Since this Super competition is fundamentally a real mess, and is rugby inferior as a simple marketable entertainment to the NRL, the death by neglect of provincial rugby and its loyalties will see rugby league the number one spectator sport in NZ by 2020.

Since New Zealand rugby will then be built on foundations of sand, and collapse of the All Blacks to second nation status can't be far behind that.
