  • Radiation: This Is Not My Dan Carter,

And just because I love community so much, heres one of the many great moments.

Abed as Don Draper totally melted my panties, and it must have been hella weird for Alison Brie given that she's Pete Campbell's wife as well...

Oh! And in other shows that I'm loving that my aunt sends to me on VHS, Huge set at a fat camp in the USA is really really awesome. It's written by Winnie Holzman who did My So-Called Life and stars a whole lot of awesomely talented kids - who never would have got work if this show didn't exist. And Gina Torres, for you Whedonites. It has the potential to be terrible, but it's actually really handled well, with the main character determined not to lose weight (her fat is her BFF), and she's a staunch feminist who puts up pictures of fatspiration to combat her roommate's terrible thinspiration collection. Although actually, it makes me feel a bit bad cos some of the girls are very attractive - and significantly younger than me. Oops.

  • Radiation: This Is Not My Dan Carter,

A chance to see Craig Parker without watching Shortland Street. Awesome.

If you'd like to see a lot more of Craig Parker (as in, his willy) get your aunt to send you Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Sure, the first couple of episodes are ludicrous, and the amount of blood and tit and cock is slightly over the top, but the story and intrigue will really grow on you.

  • Radiation: This Is Not My Dan Carter,

Anyone else got anything similar to recommend?

Eastbound and Down about a baseball player's attempts to return to glory after disgrace is hilarious, and I'm also enjoying Louie staring Louis CK (he played the cop in Parks and Rec) which is incredibly bleak and different every week, but funny.

I pick the shows that I want to watch from reading recaps on The AV Club, then I ask my aunt in the USA to send me over a videocassette she's taped off the screen. Oh Don Draper, you have been a bad boy, haven't you?

  • Hard News: Out of the Box,

widening the pool of suspects for investigation to tens- if not hundreds-of-thousands of people, rather than a few thousand.

I had a security clearence level of Secret, I think. It wasn't at all necessary given that most of what I was doing was putting up press releases on a public website, but it was what was required if you worked for MFAT.

  • Hard News: The truth about "Party Central",

The list of people that are like Chris Knox, probably isn't very long however.

I'm sure the Shirt Sleeves industry thanks their lucky stars every day for that!

The Phoenix typical gate count is within hailing distance of the rugby now.

I can't believe I find myself defending rugby, but I believe it is actually possible that people attend both rugby and soccer games. Although the only sport that I myself follow is roller derby, I'm pretty sure that I'm pretty rare and special.

  • Southerly: Everybody Needs Good Neighbours,

My mother maintains that I never believed in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny, but I did believe in Frau Kroiter, our next door neighbour in Germany who was a rich widow who'd give me and my sisters HUGE treat baskets every Christmas and Easter, including one year a stuffed toy bunny that was as tall as the three-year-old me.

  • Up Front: Something Chronic,

Oh, and Twitter & Wikipedia has helped me to self-diagnose myself with something else that normally I used to call "Living in Perth's timezone". I spent a year and a half on sleeping pills before I found out that the psychiatrist who had prescribed them to me had left the country due to his own mental health problems...

  • Up Front: Something Chronic,

So what sort of things do people do to plan ahead for fun things

Along with the pants thing, my counsellor told me to buy more pairs of socks so that I wouldn't be derailed in the mornings by not being able to find clean socks. It's sort of ridiculous, but there have been stages in my life where not being able to find socks would totally have sent me back to bed for the rest of the day. I like the sound of your cane!
