My apologies - dryness doesn't always translate. I shall use more smiley faces. ;-)
Sorry not to pick it up - I've just heard people earnestly express this view before and my brain isn't the sharpest by 4pm.

(mobiles are luxury items, remember, not low-cost options for those that don't have the credit rating/wherewithal to pay for a landline)
For some low-income people mobiles are definitely cheaper as they have no line rental attached (say a pre-pay mobile user). For the half the cost of a land line monthly rental they can already make numerous calls.

Yep, I read that post. And that is the problem. Cigarettes are a very pleasurable product, if I could buy a home-grown produced product that was as good I would. But in the meantime big tobacco can keep having some money. Not that I am a regular smoker - I only smoke socially which I find makes it all the more enjoyable. If I smoked on a daily basis it would just be a habit but when you have something only occasionally then it becomes like a treat and thus more enjoyable.

Or it might be that every bit of home-grown tobacco I have ever smoked has been foul. Maybe if somebody could produce a quality product that might be different.

I meant a vote - typing too fast.

What will be interesting to find out is how many votes/what percentage each party needs in the specials for seats to change. Ideally if the Greens could pick up another seat at National’s expense – this would make things really interesting. Be some fun playing with stats in the next few days.

Chch Central - tied before specials. Special voters in Chch must be feeling powerful about now.
